7 Reasons to Pray and Not Lose Heart | by Jamie Rohrbaugh | FromHisPresence.comHave you been praying and praying for something, but not seeing the answers you want? Are you starting to feel like giving up?

If so, I have an encouraging word for you today. I wrote an article this month for iBelieve.com called “7 Reasons to Pray and Not Lose Heart,” and it’s going to rekindle your faith.

I’d also like to add an eighth, bonus reason to pray and not lose heart:

(There are even more reasons, but they can’t all go in the same article!) So after you read the 7 reasons to pray and not lose heart over on iBelieve, know this too:

    8. Jesus personally guaranteed that you’ll get what you ask for if you keep on asking.

Matthew 7:7-11 contains Jesus’ guarantee that your persistence in prayer will pay off:

Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.  For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent?

If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!”

Our Father is better than we could ever dream.

He is kind and good, and He loves us beyond imagination. He delights to dump good gifts on us, His children!

Because God is so good, Jesus tells us in Matthew 7—and in other places throughout the Gospels—that He will give us the things for which we ask. That’s a powerful promise from our all-powerful, loving Father in Heaven!

Do these 8 reasons encourage you? If so, I’d love to hear from you! Leave a comment and join the conversation below, or over on iBelieve.com!

Thank you for these encouraging reminders, the enemy will stand below me and the glory of the Lord is going to be revealed all in his perfect timing. Thank you Fathe God, thank you Jesus, thank you Holy Spirit for ministering to my needs and helping me rise to where I need to be, I love you and thank you for never abandoning me. Continue to be the light to my feet, and not allowing me to veer from the left nor the right and bringing me where I need to be. Let your glory be revealed so All flesh can see it and you get all the praise. In Jesus name I pray, Amen

    2. Just the message i needed today

    3. Just as I thought all hope was lost and that God wasn’t hearing me, I got this word. Apparently he has been hearing me and is confirming that what I have been specifically praying for day and night is ok and he actually honors that. I was taught that you only pray for something once, let it go and trust God, but your article says to be presisent. So I feel like the Lord is right there with me in my areas of need. Thank you and God blessing over you.

I was on the same boat as you. I pray he continues to lead us both.

        1. Thank you. It gives me both promise and confirmation that although it doesn’t always makes sense in the natural, supernaturally it’s no big thing. I pray that God worked through your situation better than you and your significant other could ever imagine.

          1. Standingstillwife says:

He hasn’t answered my prayers it’s only gotten worse but I’m knocking, believing and proclaiming in the name of Jesus he will bring me to where I need to be.

            1. I will be praying as well. I understand as I feel like some of my prayers and things seems like they are not being answered but I believe that this is the time when we have to wait it out as hard and painful as it is. I think part is just allowing God to reveal himself in his fullness and the other is we are so close to our blessing that the enemy uses “scare tactics ” to make us want to quit. Praying for you.

I am praying for your minstier and my CHRUCH and my family members that are on drug

    6. Thank-you,Jamie! it is hard to keep in total faith the bad neighbor’s we have only God can bring this justice, remove them forever it is not humanly possible because this family has done many bad things for many years an get away with it we need a miracle from God in this.

      1. Lori, I have prayed for you. However, I want to challenge you as well. You have left many, many comments about how much you dislike your neighbors. However, I challenge you to take your eyes off your neighbors and look at Jesus, and begin showing kindness to your neighbors to “heap coals of fire on their heads” by being outlandishly kind to them. And I challenge you to forget about your neighbors other than that, and look only to Jesus from now on.
Will you take me up on this challenge?
We are not to look at earthly situations when we have troubles. We are to look at Jesus–to keep our eyes on JESUS, the Author and Finisher of our faith.
        Blessings,
        Jamie Rohrbaugh
