E-commerce and blog consulting:

I have a passion for helping entrepreneurs get started. I particularly enjoy helping build people build web-based businesses and ministries.

If you dream of a web-based business:

Whether your message focuses on cooking, home decorating, healthy living, fashion, DIY, travel, art, personal finance, faith, or anything in between, I can help you get your web-based business off the ground.

If you’re a Gospel worker who dreams of profitable, web-based + in-person ministry:5 Reasons You Need a Blog If You're Called to Ministry | by Jamie Rohrbaugh | FromHisPresence.com

Friend, the Internet was invented for just such a time as this. Websites, blogging, and social media make it possible for the Gospel to be preached throughout all the world, so that Jesus can come back! I believe now is the time for many who have been hidden to rise up and shout their message with a loud voice!

And by the way:

Nonprofit-is-a-tax-status

If you are already in–or are considering–any kind of public ministry, then you need a website. Specifically, you need a website that is also a blog, and you can and should make money from your site.

Jesus expects you to steward His assets well AND INCREASE THEM. “Non-profit” is a tax status, not a budget goal. 🙂

So whether you’re a pastor, lay person, worship leader, or any other kind of Gospel worker, and you’re looking at building a website and learning how to do e-commerce, you’re on the right track.

I have  helped a number of people get started with their web-based businesses or ministries, and I have finally decided to offer this service publicly. So …

I offer blog consulting and training services in the following areas:wordpress-logo-stacked-rgb

  • Identifying your core message and subthemes;
  • Developing a complete branding package, including color palette, fonts, and backgrounds;
  • Setup of new hosting accounts;
  • Loading WordPress to new blogs;
  • Help with setting up pages, WordPress settings, headers, and menus;
  • Training in how to handle, resize, make, upload, and edit images;
  • Initial editing and proofreading services (limited to initial posts on new blogs);
  • Installing plugins;
  • Building out your sidebars; and
  • SEO training.

I only work with self-hosted WordPress–and I would encourage you to NEVER, never, never build a website on any other platform. Here’s why:

  • It’s free.
  • Self-hosted WordPress is the industry standard for e-commerce websites.
  • It’s optimized for SEO and will get you the best rankings in Google searches.
  • It’s easy to work with and can be made to perform virtually any function.

WordPress all the way!

I offer e-commerce/marketing consulting in the following areas:

  • How to produce digital products;
  • How to market your product on Pinterest–one of the world’s biggest marketing engines;
  • How to build and maximize your email subscription list;
  • How to price and promote products; and
  • How to launch new products for optimum sales.

Website tools I recommend:

I am sometimes asked what tools to use to build the best website etc. I highly recommend these tools–and I have used them all personally:

If you love to read legal mumbo-jumbo, you can delight yourself in my disclosure policy here. Thanks in advance for supporting my blog in this way.

Consulting fees:

My consulting fee is $55 per hour, billed and payable weekly (and you’ll be happy to know I can get an awful lot done in an hour). 🙂 Sometimes, but not always, I can offer a flat rate for negotiated services.

Editing and proofreading services:

I offer editing and proofreading services on a contractual, per-job basis. I can edit/proofread your project for grammar, punctuation, clarity, spelling, etc.

I require a written contract for all jobs, which I will send you for signature after we decide to work together. For longer jobs, installment payments are required based on percentage of work completed, as follows:

  • 25% payment when 25% of the project is completed;
  • additional 25% payment when half the project is completed;
  • additional 25% when 75% of the project is completed; and
  • final payment due before I return the finished product.

Here’s a testimonial from a recent publisher for whom I edited a book manuscript:

Start-quoteJamie, you did a phenomenal job. Thank you! The feedback you gave was exactly the type of insight I was hoping for. I really appreciate all your hard work and attention to detail.” – Rafael Polendo, publisher, Quoir

Ghostwriting and collaboration services:

“Ghostwriting” is when I produce a written work product for pay, using my own ideas, and you use that product on your website or in your project.

No credit is needed, because you have paid me for my time the same way any company would pay a staff writer. Also, you are not involved in the process beyond placing the original order and receiving the finished work product.

Ghostwriting is an ideal process for technical writing, marketing pieces, building basic website pages, etc.

Please note that I am very choosy about what ghostwriting services I will provide. If I’m not comfortable with the way my ideas will be used, I may decline the project. Unless your project is technical writing or marketing piece, it’s probably better to make it a collaborative project (see below) rather than a ghostwriting project.

“Collaboration” is different from ghostwriting. Collaboration is when I use your ideas, your feedback, and your material, and together you and I build a written work product.

In this situation, you are paying me for my writing skills: paying me to put bells, whistles, and pretty paint (in the form of well-placed words, flowing sentences, and good grammar) on the chassis of your concept. Teamwork is essential to good collaboration projects.

I LOVE, love, love, love, love helping with collaboration projects–particularly for pastors, churches, and other ministries. For example:

  • Perhaps you have a sermon series that would make a good book, e-book, or devotional guide.
  • Perhaps you need yesterday’s sermon turned into a blog post, or a series of blog posts!
  • Perhaps you want to turn your sermon series into a workbook/curriculum for your LifeGroups to study.

THESE collaborative projects are the kinds of projects I adore. 🙂

If you have an audience, people want to hear your message in more than one arena. If you steward your message well and maximize its reach, not only will you have greater impact for the Kingdom, but you will also have the opportunity to earn additional profit for your ministry.

Editing and collaboration services are offered on a per-job, contracted basis. Installment payments are required in proportion to the percentage of the project I have completed (just like the fee structure shown above for editing/proofreading services).

If you are interested in working with me on a ghostwriting or collaboration project, please email me at {jamie at fromhispresence dot com} to discuss the details.
