It’s Time To Believe God for the Impossible!

Next LIVE webinar: Healing from the Trauma of Poverty|April 3, 2024

The Lord has been moving on my heart strongly to believe God for the impossible, and I felt led to share this word Holy Spirit gave me with you today.

I’ve been seeing over and over where Scripture records that nothing is impossible with God. So many things that God did in Scripture were actually physically and logically impossible. However …

… He did them anyway.

It’s one of the “kisses,” or manifestations of God’s covenant mercy, that I taught about in my 21 Kisses teaching series, actually. I called it “the kiss of impossible possibilities.” Performing the impossible is actually one way that God manifests His mercy to us, His children.

And I feel strongly, urgently called to tell you today:

It’s time to believe God for the impossible.

There’s something about faith that pleases God. As a matter of fact, it is impossible to please God without faith. Hebrews 11:6 tells us:

But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”

Romans 14:23 tells us that whatever is not of faith is actually SIN … which just goes to show us how seriously God takes this faith stuff.

I know that you have things in your life that you want really, really badly. Things that people say are impossible. Things like:

  • Having a baby when doctors say you can’t;
  • Leaving your job to do ministry full-time;
  • Getting free from debt;
  • Meeting, courting, and marrying the spouse of your dreams;
  • Having abundant financial provision;
  • Getting an amazing promotion in your job;
  • Having relationships with close, covenant friends;
  • Building an extremely profitable business; and more.

These things may look impossible to you or to outsiders, but GOD says that nothing is impossible.

Look at what the Scripture says in Luke 1:34-38, when Gabriel came to tell Mary she would become pregnant with Jesus:

Then Mary said to the angel, ‘How can this be, since I do not know a man?’

And the angel answered and said to her, ‘The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God. Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren. For with God nothing will be impossible.’

Then Mary said, ‘Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.’ And the angel departed from her.”

It was physically impossible for Mary, a virgin, to get pregnant. Absolutely, downright impossible. But GOD didn’t really care about that. He made the laws of nature, and He can break them. It was like He said to Mary:

“Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit” (Zechariah 4:6) …

And BOOM! She conceived.

But what was the pre-requisite? She had to agree. She had to agree with the word God sent through His messenger.

That’s why she said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.”

She had to agree with Father’s Word. Just like Jesus, over and over in the Gospels, kept saying to people who asked Him to do things:

“According to your faith be it unto you.”

“According to your faith be it unto you.”

“According to your faith be it unto you.”

Read the Gospels. You’ll see Jesus telling people this over and over. So many times, He told people that they could have the things for which they believed. Each time someone put a demand on Jesus in faith, Jesus answered their petition according to the measure of faith they had.

And I feel strongly in the Spirit that RIGHT NOW is the time to believe God for the impossible, so we can see them come to pass.

I felt impressed about this a few days ago when I was studying Luke. I noticed how pleasing it was to the Lord when Mary believed the prophetic word the Lord sent her by the angel Gabriel. That’s why Elizabeth (the mother of John the Baptist) cried out to Mary in Luke 1:45:

Blessed is she who believed, for there will be a fulfillment of those things which were told her from the Lord.”

She didn’t just say that out of the blue. She said that because she was suddenly filled with the Holy Spirit when Jesus, still in the womb, came into the room; and she prophesied.

Blessed are they who believe, for there will be a fulfillment of those things which were told them from the Lord!

It’s important to remember that it’s the Lord’s words that will be fulfilled, not our words. Sometimes we might hear things that really aren’t from the Lord, and we have to test those things against the Word and counsel to find out if they really were from the Lord or not. I once tried to develop a piece of real estate based on a word I thought I heard from the Lord that really wasn’t. I worked really hard at it, and it fell through. It wasn’t God’s plan for my life–at least, not at that time.

But there are some things that Scripture tells us clearly ARE God’s plan for our lives. And it pleases the Father for us to believe Him for ALL those things, even when they seem impossible.

So I’m praying. I’ve taken up my own challenge, just because I feel the delight in Father’s heart when I ask Him for the impossible.

It doesn’t matter what exactly I’m believing for, but just know: I’m believing Him for things that look impossible to men. But you know what? As soon as I lifted up these impossible petitions to the Lord–

praying something like this: “Abba Father, do ____ just because it does look impossible. Do it just for that reason, and thank You, Father.” —

I felt Him say YES to my petition. I felt Him thrill over the opportunity to perform miracles. I felt His heart explode with joy over the fact that I believed Him enough to ask.

I love my Daddy.

So what about you? Are you ready to believe God for the impossible today?

If so, find your Scripture. Claim your promises. Write the vision. Draw it, and make it visual. Pray in faith like I did above, and ask our good, good Father to do the impossible … and then thank Him for it.

He is our Father who delights in the impossible.

Does this word confirm some things Father has been telling you? If so, leave a comment below. I love to hear from you!

    Trusting God for the impossible. May He show favor on us. Yes, as you Jamie had said in a previous blog Favor is the visible evidence of the kiss of God on our life. I am ready to trust God for the impossible. Blessings to you my dear sister in Christ. ❤

    1. I’m learning so much everyday from the Lord and I enjoy reading and learning from you also Jamie. God bless you and keep up the good work!!

  2. Ben Knuettel says:

    Why yes Jamie. Something was confirmed. The thought of it being impossible came to me a long while ago and brought me hope then as it does now. I knew it was God because it was only something God could do (and He made that clear). Had His name written all over it. The promise was brought back a couple prophetic words ago, I commented about it and today this was reconfirmed (as I had come to this conclusion before and was confirmed in my spirit before and now, but I do need a verse). I know God is working in it and will provide.

  3. Thanks for your continued encouragement on a daily basis.
    My visit to Redding is getting closer and my body is slowly getting stronger
    I had the desire , oodles of amazing confirmations against the opinions of family and a few naysayers .
    But now papa has made a connection that is also amazing; may even be personally chauffeured there ?? ?

  4. Jamie how to claim impossible scriptures ?

    1. Hello, just find the Scripture in which God promises a thing–even if it looks impossible based on your circumstances–and start praying for that thing to happen, believe it, and speak it out loud to confess it over your life. God’s Word in your mouth is just as powerful as God’s Word in His mouth–and His Word is what makes things happen.
      Thanks for reading!

    Jamie, I thank you for this one today. I am asking God for the impossible me and my family needs a home.
    I thank you again My Angel.
    Love Millie

  6. Thank you Jamie. There are times that it seemed not right to pray for the impossible because I feel like I’m asking too much. This message enlightened me. Bless your heart!

    1. Ask for more and more, Aimee! There’s no such thing as asking too much. God’s Word says He wants to do even more for us than our human minds are capable of thinking up! 🙂

  7. Yes I am praying that there will be an open door for me to have money to help with my field of God’s kingdom since I am not supposed to work because I’m a visitor.

  8. Rebecca L Jones says:

    Some days, I feel as if everything I have I asked is impossible, I think I’m already in the mode.

  9. elizabeth says:

  10. Phyllis Brown says:

I serve a God who can do the impossible. Who can change things in the twinkling of an eye. I read your wisdom everyday and save them for encouragement. I have FAITH that the impossible is coming which will be my today MIRACLE!

  11. Shamekah Shaw says:

    This is what I needed this morning. I was actually studying Luke in December and in my journal on 12/10/16 I wrote down the scriptures Luke 1:45 and Luke 1: 37. I have been struggling the past few weeks because I decided that I am going to marry the man I have been with for 13 years and have two children with, but the plans I had to fund the wedding did not go through. I have still been planning and even am sending out invitations (it will be June 10, 2017). I know God can do the impossible, but I would be lying if I said I was not worrying about how I was going to come up with the money. Your post gives me hope to have faith. I have always struggled with letting go when I could not see the way and I have a tendency to try to devise a plan to take care of it, instead of trusting more. God has come through so many times before, but I want the wedding to be a wonderful day with family. It has been 13 long years and our children are so excited to know that their parents are finally getting married. Thank you for the confirmation with those scriptures and I will always accept prayers and someone to stand in agreement with me.

    1. I will pray for you, Shamekah. Ask Father to supply all you need to obey Him fully; to open doors for you and close other doors, however He needs to in order to guide you, lead you, and provide for you in the very best ways. He has wonderful things in mind for you, so if some doors aren’t opening, ask Him to show you the ones that are. He will give you His best if you will ask.

  12. PETER NORTON says:

    This is confirmation of what happened in church today. My prayers were answered a few minutes later (time on email), while still in church. Wow! Praise the LORD !!!

  13. Sally Santella says:

    This says it all for me❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
    Psalm 103
    Of David.

    1 Praise the Lord, my soul;
    all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
    2 Praise the Lord, my soul,
    and forget not all his benefits—
    3 who forgives all your sins
    and heals all your diseases,
    4 who redeems your life from the pit
    and crowns you with love and compassion,
    5 who satisfies your desires with good things
    so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
    6 The Lord works righteousness
    and justice for all the oppressed.
    7 He made known his ways to Moses,
    his deeds to the people of Israel:
    8 The Lord is compassionate and gracious,
    slow to anger, abounding in love.
    9 He will not always accuse,
    nor will he harbor his anger forever;
    10 he does not treat us as our sins deserve
    or repay us according to our iniquities.
    11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
    so great is his love for those who fear him;
    12 as far as the east is from the west,
    so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
    13 As a father has compassion on his children,
    so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him;
    14 for he knows how we are formed,
    he remembers that we are dust.
    15 The life of mortals is like grass,
    they flourish like a flower of the field;
    16 the wind blows over it and it is gone,
    and its place remembers it no more.
    17 But from everlasting to everlasting
    the Lord’s love is with those who fear him,
    and his righteousness with their children’s children—
    18 with those who keep his covenant
    and remember to obey his precepts.
    19 The Lord has established his throne in heaven,
    and his kingdom rules over all.
    20 Praise the Lord, you his angels,
    you mighty ones who do his bidding,
    who obey his word.
    21 Praise the Lord, all his heavenly hosts,
    you his servants who do his will.
    22 Praise the Lord, all his works
    everywhere in his dominion.
    Praise the Lord, my soul.

  14. Thank you so much Jamie! I believe in the impossible that me and my family will get out of this financial bind and that I will pass that last test so I can finally finish school so i continue onto to college!

  15. Thank you Jamie. Your articles had been blessed and encouraged me to face my struggles. I hope that God also will confirm me about His promises as He did to you because ’till now things just look as ordinary and nothing special except His love and power to me daily to keep standing after the tears i’ve shed in prayer. I just feel sure at this time that the storm i face today will coming to its end and i pray to coming soon after waiting for almost half year since last year. But God does know what’s the best for me and His other children so i just hope and rise my faith to be more stronger than my ‘giving up feeling’. God bless you Jamie.

  16. Joe Whitelaw says:

    The impossible for me is a home that I own so that my wife “never” has to know “homelessness” ever again. I want to believe! With ALL my heart! But I desperately need His help to believe more!

    1. He can do this for you, brother. I feel led to tell you to make a list of everything you want in your home. Write it down. Then begin praying over your written list. Habakkuk 2. Let the angels run who read your list!

  17. 1 Corinthians 2:9
    But, as it is written,
    “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard,
    nor the human heart conceived,
what God has prepared for those who love him”—

    A few powerful words. In time, in His time, a miracle will happen.

    Thank you Jamie for you.

  18. Lillie Belle says:

    Excellent points!!

    He gave me more confirmation today… with…

    John 15:16

  19. Wow Amen ?? Jamie what a word of confirmation for me ??????❤️Trusting in You God??Your a way maker ??Promise keeper ??????❤️Thank you Jamie for what your doing ❤️

  20. Thank you Jamie for this post. I came across it as I’m writing a sermonette about the father of the boy who was possessed by a spirit in Mark 9:14-28. My personal testimony is I have a family member who’s in a situation that looks like it can’t change & I was thinking that’s just the way it’s going to be. But something about that thought made me feel like I need to believe God can change my family member’s situation. I felt like the father in that scripture when he said, I believe. Help my unbelief. I am fasting & seeking God for change because Jesus told His disciples that somethings only come out by fasting & prayer. I feel strengthened by the scriptures & devotionals I’ve been reading lately which all point to believing God.

  21. I was nominated as a reserve candidate for the Commonwealth shared scholarship 2018. I am believing God that He will move me from a reserve candidate to a nominee. This has really strengthened my faith that this seemly impossibility will become possible with God

  22. Maneesh Massey says:

    I was really blessed by your article. I believe I was led to it by the Holy Spirit Himself. At the moment, I’m believing God through radical faith on something seemingly impossible in the natural realm.
    Please pray that this request be fulfilled for Hos glory.

  23. James Kay says:

    Thank You so much for speaking to me through our Father! In the blessed and holy name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.

  24. The lord has given me several prophetic dreams over the years… one in particular has yet to come to pass – and now it feels like it is impossible— though I know all things are possible with the God. I feel I have come to a place of testing of my faith. I love that part about where you say it delights God’s heart when we ask. I have clung to the verse “blessed is she who believed that the Lord would fufill his promise to her” and am bringing this before the lord daily to see the impossible be made possible – oh but, this world and Satan loves to put those seeds of doubt in. It has been 9 years since I had this dream and – I can tell you it looks humanly hopeless… but I know this is the stuff HE is all about! And I cannot wait to say “look what HE did! Look at my story and how God is faithful!”

  25. I feel that God led me directly to this post. Thank you for following how you were being lead and posting this. My girlfriend and I broke up three months ago and from day one I have believed The Holy Spirit was telling me she loved me and I need to wait. Others things have happened also to make me believe this is real and not some other spirit or my imagination. Although it would seem impossible to those on the outside, I feel I am going to actually marry her and that we will serve God together and that our marriage will be our testimony. I have prayed every day for God to lead me and to give me the wisdom to discern His voice. This post really spoke to me and what I’m going through. I believe and know nothing is impossible with God.
    If you see this, please pray for us. I want to do His will. Thank you.
