The Brickmaker's Bride by Judith Miller:
I LOVED this book. It was a beautiful, touching, and intriguing story, and I'm ready for the sequel!
The Brickmaker's Bride is a novel about a girl whose daddy died. She and her mother were selling the family business (a brickyard). Enter a love interest. I enjoy any kind of historical, inspirational fiction, so this was right up my alley.
Judith Miller did a great job developing the characters; you loved the hero and heroine, and practically hated the villains. Ms. Miller also did a good job unfolding very unexpected twists and turns into the plot, so it wasn't just “they meet and fall in love.” It looks to be a setup for a whole series, and I would love to read each of them.
This book did start out a little slow in the first few chapters. However, I skimmed the parts that felt a little too slow and by the time I was several chapters in, the slowness was over and it was all interesting from there on out. It was a great weekend read.
I love, love, love this book. LOVE. Why? Because it's a whole bunch of tiny Bill Johnson sermons about everything. I mean everything!
Experience the Impossible: Simple Ways to Unleash Heaven's Power on Earth contains 79 two- or three-page chapters, and each one is really like a devotional about the Kingdom, the supernatural lifestyle, revival, healing, etc. It's Bill Johnson's life message presented 79 different ways.
I get so much out of Bill Johnson's teaching. I've heard him say that the goal of his life is to host the presence of the Holy Spirit, and that is the goal of my life too. I learn from his teaching like crazy. It inspires me, challenges me, makes me cry and whisper all at the same time.
This book is no different. Just one of these little devotionals will fire you up and make you hungry to seek more.
Experience the Impossible will bring you into radical collision with the Kingdom of God and its POWER. Read it and let the impartation you receive take root in your heart–then share it with others!
