Have you seen Disney’s new movie, “Frozen,” yet? If not, you should. I’m not going to spoil the movie for you in this blog post, but suffice it to say that it’s one of the best movies I’ve seen in a long time. When I saw this movie, it awakened something in me. Watching “Frozen” called my attention to my own longing for superpowers.
Ok, you’re laughing. Don’t laugh too hard, though. Think about it. I would bet that you long for superpowers too. Don’t we all? That’s why movies, comics, and TV shows like Batman, Spiderman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and other superheroes are so popular. Every person has a deep, inner longing to see miracles, signs, and wonders happen every day, and to have the power to carry them out.
We all long for superpowers.
We have that longing because God made us that way.
It’s true. Have you ever read God’s mandate on the life of every Christian? It’s found in Matthew 10:8:
“Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.”
Healing the sick! Raising the dead! Cleansing lepers! Casting out demons! These things require superpowers! Ordinary folks can’t do these things. Nevertheless, what if we were all like Elsa in “Frozen,” wielding our superpowers with a mere gesture? What if, with one wave of our hands, we could drive out sickness? What if, with another wave of our hands, we could bring the dead back to life? What if, with a mere touch, we imparted the Presence of God into someone such that they were radically filled with the Holy Spirit?
We can.
That is the life we are called to.
You and I are called to be so full of the Holy Ghost that we speak the Name of Jesus and demons flee. We are called to release the Presence of God into people, such that ACL tears come back together, spinal cords heal, and cancer flees. We are divinely mandated to raise the dead back to life.
Jesus said so, and if Jesus said it, I believe it.
So how do we walk in our superpowers?
We change our perspective. We must begin to understand that the third Heaven, where God dwells, is more real than earth. The third Heaven is lasting and eternal. We are citizens there. The Bible tells us that that citizenship isn’t just for the next life, after we die. No; we are CURRENTLY seated with Christ Jesus in Heavenly places. That means that everything God is, and everything He has, belongs to us. Every spiritual reality of the third Heaven belongs to us now.
When we accept that truth, then we can begin to walk in it. We will become so aware of His Presence that we start living from it. We start living FROM Heaven TO earth. (I’m sensing a theme in my blog posts lately, aren’t you?) 🙂
When we live FROM the third Heaven, as is our divine right, that’s when our superpowers, given to us by the Holy Ghost, start manifesting.
That’s when we speak to spirits of rejection and worthlessness and command them to leave people.
That’s when we ask the Holy Spirit of Adoption to fill people up, and they get radically touched and filled with the Holy Ghost.
That’s when we touch someone’s eyes, and blind eyes open.
God ordained each of us to have superpowers. Those superpowers come by His Super Power.
I’m ready to walk in my superpowers. Are you?
