Do you want to receive even more answers to prayer than ever before? Do you want to move forward in your life with God doing signs, wonders, and miracles on your behalf?
If so, then using certain lists in your devotional time will help keep you on track. And in this final installment of this four-part series, we will look at the last two types of lists that I encourage you to make right away!
Although I’ve said it before in the other parts of this series, I do want to repeat it here:

Whether you’re a natural list-maker or not, these techniques are for you–because they are all based on the Word of God! Anyone can make a list, and anyone can maintain that list. Anyone can read these lists as both trackers of where you have been AND maps to where you are going. These lists are simple and easy!
If you’re new to this series, be sure to read Part 1 here for my backstory and the first two types of lists you may want to consider making. Also, you can read Part 2 here for lists 3-5, and Part 3 here for lists 6-8.
Without further ado, let’s look at the last two of the ten lists you can make that will propel you forward:
List 9: A list of the dreams, goals, and plans you want to see happen in your life.
I’m not talking about the kind of dreams you have while you sleep, although those are important too. For this list, however, I’m talking about writing the vision and making it plain. As it says in Habakkuk 2:2-4:
“Then the Lord answered me and said:
“Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
Behold the proud, his soul is not upright in him; but the just shall live by his faith” (Habakkuk 2:2-4 NKJV).
If you want something in life, you need to write it down. For example, you should write down:
- Everywhere you want to go;
- Everything you want to do;
- Everything you want to see (London? Paris? Rome? Antarctica? The Sahara Desert?);
- Everything you’d like to accomplish;
- What you’d like to have; and
- Every aspect of your living conditions that you’d like to see come to fruition (like where you want to live; what kind of comfort and lodging you want to maintain; what your use of time looks like in your ideal world, and so on).

It is only when you write down the vision that “he may run who reads it.”
And who is the one who reads it? In 100% of circumstances, God and His angels read it. People may not always see your list; they may not even agree with your vision. But GOD and His angels WILL see the list, and will work on your behalf when you obey Him in writing these things down.
Writing down your dreams, goals, and plans isn’t a waste of time. It’s obedience to Jesus.
Jesus wants you to write the vision and make it plain, that he may run who reads it. That is a clear command–and not only will doing so bring you closer to God (since all acts of obedience bring you closer to God), but writing down your dreams will also help make them more real to you–and, thus, more willing to chase them and make them happen.
And finally, the last list I would encourage you to make to propel you forward in your spiritual and natural life:
List 10: Make a list of the prophecies over your life.
When God speaks to you, it’s extremely important that you write down what He says. Then, water that prophecy with your prayers and actions for years if necessary until you see it happen.
Why? Because here’s a key factor about understanding prophecy:
Many people who get a prophetic word think that word will happen instantly. However, God is rarely in the habit of doing instant manifestation of prophecy.
Sometimes He manifests a thing instantly, yes. But, usually, God will speak to you about something He’s going to fulfill for you in 5, 10, or 20 years–or more. The reason He shows you the goal so far in advance is so you can WORK toward it and also WATER it with your prayers.

Prophecy is rarely a guarantee. Instead, prophecy is usually the Lord’s invitation to birth something.
Prophecy is usually a notification of what God’s heart for you is, together with an invitation to contend over that thing in the Spirit realm until it becomes visible in the natural realm.
The prophetic word, by itself, is usually not a guarantee. It is an invitation to partner with God in all the ways the Word prescribes …
… including by faith, prayer, AND aggressive action …
… as it says in Matthew 11:12:
“And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force” (Matthew 11:12 NKJV).
… until the thing is done. And if you never DO anything about the prophetic words you have received …
… in other words:
- You do not pray over them; or
- You pray but do not act; or
- You take action one time, but you don’t keep taking action aggressively, and on an ongoing basis, refusing to stop or be denied until the fullness of the prophetic word spoken over your life comes to pass …
… then you’ll usually never see the prophetic word come to pass.
That is why it is so important to maintain a list of the prophecies spoken over your life.
Many people don’t do this, but it’s time to start now. Even if you start by writing down one prophetic word that someone sent to you that you know is from the Lord …
… Or even if you write down prophetic promises and words the Lord has spoken directly to your heart …
… It’s important just to have a list of the things you know the Lord has said He desires to come to pass in your life, or a list of the words that tell you what He thinks of you, and how “proud” of you He is.

Remember that God’s words are pure:
“The words of the Lord are pure words, like silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. You shall keep them, O Lord, You shall preserve them from this generation forever” (Psalm 12:6-7 NKJV).
God’s words are pure, precious, and holy. This includes His words that He has spoken to your heart about His thoughts for you, His plans for you, His love for you, and more.
Therefore, I urge you today to show His words the honor they deserve by writing them down and stewarding them well, praying over them frequently and believing God to make happen all that He has promised, until you see it all come to fruition!
Beloved, whether you consider yourself an organized person or not, making certain lists can really propel you forward in your walk with God.
Making the ten lists we have discussed in this short series will inspire you; it will keep you on track; it will help you pray purposefully over the right things that God desires for your life; and it will help you to receive an abundance of answers because of your persistent, focused, purposeful prayers.
