Did you know that everyone has a ministry from the Lord, even though every person’s ministry looks different? True story! But the thing is, have you ever taken a concentrated period of time to actually pray, with a plan and an outline, over your ministry? If not, this prayer plan–Morning and Night: 21 Days of Praying for Your Ministry–is going to equip and inspire you to pray for your ministry strategically!

What does your ministry look like?

Whatever your spiritual gifts are, using them is your ministry. (If you need a free spiritual gifts inventory/quiz to help you figure out what your spiritual gifts are, use the signup box below to have one emailed to you directly!)

    • mercy, and your ministry is taking groceries to families in need, or comforting widows in their distress …
    • tongues, and your ministry is intercession in your prayer closet for everybody you know …
    • prophecy, and your ministry is hearing the Lord speak words of comfort and encouragement for others …
    • giving, and your ministry is to strategically fund Kingdom projects in order to get the Gospel out, and to help the poor …
    • words of wisdom, and the Lord gives you divine strategies that seem to always get miraculous results when faced with any problem …
    • exhortation, and you love to preach or teach God’s Word, so that people can know the truth, and the truth can make them free …
    • administration, and you are great at helping people get organized and carry out projects until they are completed …

… whether you have these gifts or any other of the 18 spiritual gifts …

    You have a ministry!

The key is learning how to use your gifts; learning how to operate in your ministry; being faithful to steward your gifts and do whatever you can, using your gifts, every day with the opportunities currently available to you …

… and then asking the Lord to expand your territory and allow you to reach even MORE people!

When every person uses their gifts and operates in their own ministry, that’s when the Gospel gets preached!

And Jesus told us all to preach the Gospel. Remember the Great Commission in Matthew 28:

“And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, ‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.’ Amen” (Matthew 28:18-20 NKJV).

Well, beloved, we can’t go into all the world and disciple nations without prayer. We CAN do all things with Jesus’ help, and only with His help, as He told us in the book of John:

“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing” (John 15:5 NKJV).

    And also:

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13 NKJV).

But we will definitely have to pray, and pray a lot, in order to get there. When we are weak, He is strong–and every one of us is weak without Jesus helping us, moving through us, and doing the work on our behalf!

So, beloved, it’s time to pray over your ministry more than ever before–and to pray strategically.

To help you, I have put together a list of 42 different topics that every minister of the Gospel–that’s you–needs to pray over. These are all Scriptural promises, mandates, and commands, and it’s easy to forget about any of them (or most of them) unless we pray with a plan!

Since there are 42 topics and this is a 21-day prayer plan, there is one topic for each morning and a separate topic for each night.

I strongly feel the Lord calling the Body of Christ back to prayer and Bible study BOTH morning and night, even though many people who seek the Lord only do so once a day. King David actually wrote that he set aside seven times a day to praise the Lord and pray, and we need to get back to THAT level of fervor! So, let’s begin with morning and night prayer times, shall we?

I have included each day’s morning + night Scriptures and suggested prayer directives in one article here on the blog. Please keep each article as I send it to you, so you can refer to it twice a day as you pray through each topic.

On the morning of Day 1 of praying for your ministry, we are praying to go to the nations.

First, read the following five Scriptures:

Matthew 28:18-20: “And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, ‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen” (Matthew 28:18-20 NKJV).

Psalm 2:8: “Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations for Your inheritance, and the ends of the earth for Your possession” (Psalm 2:8 NKJV).

Matthew 9:35-38: “Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest” (Matthew 9:35-38 NKJV).

Psalm 32:8: “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye” (Psalm 32:8 NKJV).

Isaiah 6:1-8: “In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple. Above it stood seraphim; each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew.

And one cried to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory!” And the posts of the door were shaken by the voice of him who cried out, and the house was filled with smoke. So I said: “Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts.”

Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a live coal which he had taken with the tongs from the altar. And he touched my mouth with it, and said: “Behold, this has touched your lips; your iniquity is taken away, and your sin purged.” Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send and who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me” (Isaiah 6:1-8 NKJV).

Pray along the following prayer points for the morning of Day 1, adding in your own words as needed to pray from your heart:

    • Tell the Lord that you want to obey Him at all costs. Tell Him that you want to obey His command to go and make disciples of all the nations, teaching them His Word and baptizing them in His name.
    • Tell the Lord that you are beginning now to obey Him by going to your own nation.
    • Ask Him to show you how to go to other nations, and that He would open doors for you to go to other nations and preach.
    • Ask the Lord to give you entire nations to throw at the feet of Jesus, for the earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof! (Psalm 24:1.)
    • Ask Him to teach you how make disciples of nations and people, for He is the greatest disciple-maker of them all.
    • Pray that the Lord would use you powerfully to preach the gospel of the kingdom, teach His Word, and heal every kind of sickness and disease among the people.
    • Pray that the Lord would give you HIS heart of compassion for all people, and that you would see people the way He sees them.
    • Pray that He, the Lord of the harvest, would thrust out laborers into His harvest field—beginning with you!
    • If you are not yet in full-time ministry, but you want to be, ask the Lord to thrust you out into His harvest field full-time, and to open the doors (including the doors of financial provision) for you to labor full-time as a vocational minister.
    • Ask the Lord to give you the ideas you need to reach the world, AND to labor full-time in the ministry—and pray that He would help you notice those ideas, grab hold of them, and carry them out.

Then praise the Lord, and thank Him, for what He has done, is doing, and is going to do!

For the evening of Day 1, we are praying for God to work signs, wonders, and miracles on your behalf during this 21-day period of consecration (and always).

First, read these Scriptures to get inspired and to build your faith:

Jeremiah 33:3: “‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know’” (Jeremiah 33:3 NKJV).

Matthew 5:7: “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy” (Matthew 5:7 NKJV).

Psalm 72:18-19: “Blessed be the Lord God, the God of Israel, Who only does wondrous things! And blessed be His glorious name forever! And let the whole earth be filled with His glory. Amen and Amen” (Psalm 72:18-19 NKJV).

    Speak Life Volume 2!

This book contains hundreds of Biblical confessions that will help you walk in God’s manifest power every day! Use Speak Life Volume 2 to help you speak the Word over your mind, love walk, prayer life, and more.

Isaiah 30:18-21: “Therefore the Lord will wait, that He may be gracious to you; and therefore He will be exalted, that He may have mercy on you. For the Lord is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for Him. For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem; you shall weep no more.

He will be very gracious to you at the sound of your cry; when He hears it, He will answer you. And though the Lord gives you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, yet your teachers will not be moved into a corner anymore, but your eyes shall see your teachers. Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left” (Isaiah 30:18-21 NKJV).

Psalm 23:5-6: “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever” (Psalm 23:5-6 NKJV).

Isaiah 58:8-11: “Then your light shall break forth like the morning, your healing shall spring forth speedily, and your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard. Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer; you shall cry, and He will say, ‘Here I am.’

If you take away the yoke from your midst, the pointing of the finger, and speaking wickedness, if you extend your soul to the hungry and satisfy the afflicted soul, then your light shall dawn in the darkness, and your darkness shall be as the noonday. The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and strengthen your bones; you shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail” (Isaiah 58:8-11 NKJV).

Also, read Joel 2:12-27 (which is too long to include here).

I know that’s a lot of Scriptures, but you can do it! You will be GREATLY encouraged, and your spirit will be strengthened, if you will read them all. 🙂
