Prayer for the Brokenhearted

Hey beloved,
I have been praying for you and everyone in this community, and I found a prayer and a word of exhortation that I believe will bless you.

This prayer is a prayer for the brokenhearted.

It’s an audio clip from when I was ministering live at a conference, and if you have been brokenhearted …

… or discouraged …
… depressed …
… or going through a nightmare …

This prayer for the brokenhearted, hurting, struggling, and discouraged will help you. In this prayer, I command LIFE into your spirit, soul, and heart.

Please watch and listen to this short clip below. Come into agreement with me as I pray for you, and allow Holy Spirit to minister to you.

Next, I wanted to provide you with a list of Scriptures that will comfort you if your heart is broken.

So here are 12 Scriptures to read, pray, and chew on if your heart is broken:

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ” (2 Corinthians 1:3-5).

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble” (Psalm 46:1).

“‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know'” (Jeremiah 33:3).

“Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you” (Deuteronomy 31:6).

“But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you” (1 Peter 5:10).

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7).

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28).

“Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:37-39).

“Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you” (1 Peter 5:6).

“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust'” (Psalm 91:1-2).

“Hear my cry, O God; attend to my prayer. From the end of the earth I will cry to You, when my heart is overwhelmed; lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For You have been a shelter for me, a strong tower from the enemy. I will abide in Your tabernacle forever; I will trust in the shelter of Your wings. Selah” (Psalm 61:1-4).

“Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy” (1 Peter 4:12-13).

***The entire chapters of Psalm 23 and Psalm 91 are also tremendously helpful, but are too long to include here.***

Beloved, I am praying for you today. Remember that the Lord is near to the brokenhearted. He saves those who are crushed in spirit. And if YOUR heart is broken today, may our loving Papa God wrap His comforting arms around you right now in Jesus’ name.

Love in Christ,
Jamie

    Hi Jamie,
Thank you so much for your prayer.
It touched my heart. I haven’t been a Christian for very long (4 months or so) and mostly trying to figure stuff out on my own since there aren’t many other Christians like you living around here where I can learn from. I’ve been feeling down and discouraged today not sure what to do next but this has blessed me today. Your blog has helped me so much in the last couple of weeks and I’ll keep going no matter what. Thanks again! God bless you!

  2. Thank you so much! These are verses our loving Father has shown me over the past several years in going through this battle and I’m so grateful! He’s also shown me that this battle is not mine but His and because I’m waiting in Him He will lift me up on wings of eagles. I will run and not grow weary and I will walk and not be faint. I’m ready for those days to come and some already have but I know if I rush ahead, I’m not going to get what He wants me to get out of this. I trust you Jesus. In your time. Not mine. Thank you so much for sharing this Jamie
