10 Confessions of Strength for Every Day

Beloved, do you feel weak today? Did you wake up not knowing how you could face the day, and maybe not even wanting to try? If so, these 10 confessions of strength for every day will hit the spot for you today!

Here’s the backstory:

The Lord put these confessions in my heart today because I woke up feeling weak and discouraged. I haven’t been sleeping well because I got hurt recently while lifting weights, and the pain has been intense. And unfortunately, all the stresses of life seem to feel a little worse when you aren’t sleeping well.

However, I got up and began to pray. And immediately, I knew that I needed to submit the feelings of weakness and discouragement to the Lord. In particular, the phrase “Let the weak say, ‘I am strong,'” came to mind–a quote from Joel 3:10:

“Beat your plowshares into swords and your pruning hooks into spears; let the weak say, ‘I am strong’” (Joel 3:10 NKJV).

Well, I immediately began turning my thoughts over to the Lord.

That conversation went something like this:

“Lord, I feel discouraged, but that simply means a lack of courage. And Your Word says that I should be strong and of good courage. So please fill me with courage right now, Lord.

And Lord, I feel weak; but Your Word says that Your grace is sufficient for me, for Your strength is made perfect in my weakness. Thank You for making Your strength perfect in me right now. Thank You, Abba Father.”

As I systematically turned my feelings over to the Lord, I felt the strength of the Lord flood my spirit, soul, and body.

I really needed that, too. I’ve said it many times, and I’ll say it again: people often think I’m strong because the Lord has blessed me to be in full-time ministry and do a lot of things in ministry, reaching a lot of people all over the world. However, I am actually the weakest person I know. I am absolutely the epitome of “the foolish things that confound the wise,” because I have to cry out to God for hours every single morning, soaking in His presence and His Word, in order to have the grace to even function from day to day. #JustBeingReal

But, as I systematically turned over my feelings to the Lord, I felt His strength pour through me.

I started to speak out loud, “I am strong,” like it says to do in Joel 3:10. And I felt the impact of those words immediately.

Well, anytime the Lord puts something on your heart, you should always write it down. So I wrote down “I am strong” in my journal, and suddenly the Lord started showing me these 10 tiny confessions that would counteract each one of the negative feelings I was casting at His feet.

I wrote down these confessions as He put them in my heart, and then I started speaking them out loud. They are tiny, and I didn’t know how they would impact my feelings–but we have to live by the Word of God, not by feelings, right? So I spoke them anyway.

And again, immediately, I felt the Lord’s strength, hope, motivation, and courage flow through my spirit, soul, and body.

So, I wanted to share these confessions with you. They are tiny, but they are the Word of God–and so they are mighty. Will you join me in speaking these 10 tiny confessions of strength over yourself out loud right now?

Without further ado, let’s speak these 10 confessions of strength for every day over ourselves:

1. I am strong.
2. I am more than a conqueror.
3. God is providing for me right now.
4. God’s grace is sufficient for me.
5. I have courage.
6. I am not afraid or dismayed, for the Lord my God is with me wherever I go.
7. God has not given me a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.
8. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
9. I am healed by the stripes of Jesus.
10. Nothing can by any means harm me.

Beloved, the weapons of our warfare are not carnal; they do not appear significant and strong in our natural vision.

As we read in 2 Corinthians 10:3-5:

“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:3-5 NKJV).

These 10 tiny confessions of strength for every day are a weapon. They don’t appear mighty; they are short and appear simplistic.

Nevertheless, they truly ARE mighty because they are the Word of God. And when I used these 10 confessions, I suddenly felt those fleshly arguments, negative thoughts, and negative feelings flee from me.

None of those negative thoughts I was having were submitted to the Word of God. But, when I used these tiny confessions as a weapon of my spiritual warfare, the confessions–which ARE the Word of God spoken over oneself–made the arguments and high things that exalted themselves against the knowledge of God FLEE.

I believe it will be the same for you, IF you will use your spiritual weapons of speaking God’s Word out of your mouth.

You have to speak it out loud; feelings follow words, not the other way around. So if you need to take your feelings and thoughts into captivity to the obedience of Christ, start right now by speaking the Word of God over yourself.

It may take time to build your faith, but everything will change in your life when you start confessing God’s strength and truth over your weakness, and against the enemy’s lies.
