Presence Seekers University signupHey Presence Seekers,
I wanted to share a brief encouraging word with you today, and then we’ll get back on our regular schedule of spiritual meat on Wednesday. šŸ™‚

Here’s the encouraging word I felt led to share:

Many of you have been in a funk. You’ve been so tired that you haven’t been able to get out of your own way.

It’s a stinky place to be in, and you want to get out. You’re desperate to get back on your feet again, but there’s so much work to be done that you get overwhelmed even thinking about it.

Here’s the secret that the Lord has given me for right now:

Don’t try to fix everything at once right now.

Instead, spend 15 minutes today doing just one thing toward something that matters to you.

And then leave the rest be until tomorrow … and tomorrow, just do something toward your mess for 15 minutes again.

For example:

Maybe your house is a total wreck. Grab a trash bag and spend 15 minutes throwing things away.

Or maybe your laundry is all piled up. Just take 15 minutes and put one load in the washer.

Or maybe you’re exhausted because you haven’t been exercising. Go walk around the block just once, for 15 minutes. Then don’t sweat the rest today.

The power of 15 minutes.

15 minutes is doable. It won’t overwhelm you. And Rome wasn’t conquered in a day.

You don’t have to fix yourself today. Give yourself mercy and grace by just taking 15 minutes to do something that will help you feel better, and see a little light out of the mess.

It will make all the difference in the world. 15 minutes each day can get you out of the funk.

Much love,
Jamie

    1. Yes! Exactly! So many people are overwhelmed right now. That overwhelming heaviness is not from the Lord. I’m sensing this is a time of rest, not of pressure. God wants to heal His people.

  4. It’s really a good idea to refresh oneself. Thanks

Jamie, thanks again for sharing this very simple solution . My grandmother did this when she was older and had Parkinsons. She was determined to feel productive to some degree and she also learned to let go of her perfectionism that runs deep in our family tree. ” Every little bit counts” she would always say… Being a child of the big depression , she taught us many lessons about what was truly important and how to stay grounded…I miss her everyday…Can’t wait till I see her again…God willing … I pray that my children will remember these lessons also..

    1. That’s awesome, Christine. What a gem of a testimony from your grandmother. She sounds like a wonderful woman.
