Day 20: Pray for FAVOR and a Crown On Your Head

The Lord has led me to write 21 More Days of Breakthrough Prayer because the first 21 days were so powerful, but the Lord told me He isn’t done working miracles!

In this simple prayer series, I am sharing one Scripture verse or passage each day. I will also add bullet-point prayer directives you can use to pray through that Scripture.

I won’t be writing out actual prayers, though; I feel the Lord wants you to exercise your prayer muscles by talking to Him right out of your heart!

Today, Day 20 of breakthrough prayer, we will pray for favor out of the book of Esther.

God gave Esther favor, and He is no respecter of persons. What He has done for one person, He will do for you. Romans 2:11 says this:

“For there is no partiality with God” (Romans 2:11 NKJV).

Let’s take a look at how God gave Esther favor–and what the favor did for her.

In the book of Esther, God took a little orphan girl and made her Queen of the greatest empire on the face of the earth in her time. Esther 2:17 tells us what happened:

“The king loved Esther more than all the other women, and she obtained grace and favor in his sight more than all the virgins; so he set the royal crown upon her head and made her queen instead of Vashti” (Esther 2:17 NKJV).

And beloved, while there are specific steps you need to go through to obtain favor, the first step is preparing your heart with humility and expectation that the Lord will give you the favor you desire.

After that, it remains only to seek Him, which means:

• to become close to Him;
• to love Him and desire Him with all of your heart; and
• to obey Him as the outflow of your saving relationship with Him, in which you have made Him the Boss and Master of your life.

Those are the steps to obtaining favor from God for your life!

In today’s breakthrough prayer, we are praying for favor; specifically, for the Lord to give you favor to rule and reign.

Let’s look at today’s breakthrough Scripture one more time:

“The king loved Esther more than all the other women, and she obtained grace and favor in his sight more than all the virgins; so he set the royal crown upon her head and made her queen instead of Vashti” (Esther 2:17 NKJV).

Remember: If God gave Esther that kind of favor, He will give YOU that kind of favor too. It all flows from relationship.

Esther loved God, and she received favor. Do you love God? If so, He will give you favor too.

And if you don’t love God yet, but you want to, I urge you to give your life to Him now, today–and watch the favor on your life grow as you get to know Him and love Him more daily.

Pray through these breakthrough prayer points with me today:

• Tell the Father that you come before Him in Jesus’ name.
• Thank Him that He is no respecter of persons. What He did for another, He will do for you. What He did for Esther, He will do for you.
• Praise Him for His goodness and mercy toward you.
• Verbally confess your dependence on the Lord in prayer. Tell Him how much you need Him today!
• Confess the utter inadequacy of your flesh and natural self to accomplish anything by yourself.
• Remind Him that Jesus said that He is the vine and we are the branches. Without Him, we can do nothing! (See John 15:1-8.)
• Speak out your faith in Him that, even though you can do nothing in and of yourself, you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. (See Philippians 4:13.)
• Ask the Lord to help you love Him and seek Him with all your heart.
• Pray that you would seek first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and then all the things you need will be added unto you. (See Matthew 6:33.)
• Ask the Lord to give you grace and favor today with everyone around you, even the kings. (“Kings” are those people in positions of government, authority, influence, provision, or supervision over you.)
• As the king loved Esther more than all the other women, and she obtained grace and favor in his sight, ask the Lord to give you the same kind of favor that promotes and elevates you to positions and places where you otherwise could not go.
• Pray that you would shine and stand out among the crowd, just the way that Esther stood out and shone more than all the other virgins in the “queen contest.”
• Ask the Lord to shine His light of favor on you like a spotlight on a stage; that many would see and fear, and would put their trust in the Lord! (See Psalm 40:3.)
• Pray that you would shine for Jesus all the days of your life.
• Ask the Lord to set a royal crown on your head; to give you influence and authority for Him everywhere you go.
• Ask Him to use you to dethrone every wicked establishment around you, supplanting wickedness with His righteousness and righteous ways instead.
• Thank Him for hearing and answering your prayer. Thank Him for giving you favor.
• Give Him all the praise!

Dear friend, as you pray for favor from the Lord, He will hear and answer.

The Lord will seat you with princes and make you a prince or princess in the world yourself. Your royalty is not only manifest in Heaven; you are also called to walk in extreme favor on the earth.

Remember again what the Lord did for Esther:

“The king loved Esther more than all the other women, and she obtained grace and favor in his sight more than all the virgins; so he set the royal crown upon her head and made her queen instead of Vashti” (Esther 2:17 NKJV).

What God did for Esther, He will do for you!
