“… if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14).

Brothers and sisters, I’m going to say some tough things below. I’m saying them in love, and they are hard things to think about–but someone, sometime must say them! We must think about them! We cannot go on the way we have been! Don’t get under condemnation, but let’s think about these things together today. Can we?

Please?

I am so frustrated, beloveds. Aren’t you? People are dying. Being murdered and shot down in cold blood. Innocent people. Black people and white people both. Many of my African-American friends are living in fear. I have dear friends who are police officers also and they are godly people, and I suspect their families are also afraid.

Beloveds, this is not time for another civil war!

So what is it time for? What’s the only thing that can heal racism and stop the violence?

“… if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14). THIS IS THE ONLY THING THAT CAN STOP THE VIOLENCE!

FOR GOD’S PEOPLE–YES, INCLUDING YOU AND ME–TO HUMBLE OURSELVES and PRAY and seek God’s face and turn from OUR–YOUR AND MY–wicked ways!

I know “the rules of writing” say I shouldn’t write using “you” language. It’s too offensive, they say. People might get mad.

But you know what? I’m sick of people hearing the Word of God and applying it to everybody else. If this offends you, too bad.

WAKE UP, CHURCH! PEOPLE ARE DYING! They’re dying and, in many cases, GOING TO HELL–and we let the world pass by while we sip our coffee and eat our doughnuts and enjoy our sleep!

WHERE IS THE PASSION? Where is the fire? What ever became of seeking God first?

Believers in the early church fasted two days a week to seek God’s face. When was the last time you fasted just to seek God’s face and ask Him to bring you into new levels of consecration to Him?

Saints throughout the ages have worn holes in their carpet from their praying. Their walls have been stained with tears as they have leaned against their bedroom walls and cried out to God in prayer for hours at a time. How are your walls looking? Are there any holes in your carpet?

Jesus frequently spent all night in prayer to God. When was the last time you spent even 30 minutes in prayer to God? Laid on your face and poured out your heart to Him?

I’m preaching to myself here too. Where is the passion? Where is the fire? WAKE UP, CHURCH!

America isn’t going to heal herself. Only God can heal America.

Only God can heal racism and stop the police brutality. Only God can end abortion and stop the genocide of a generation. Only God can remove corruption and bring righteousness at every level of government.

But where were you the last time your church held a prayer meeting?

What did you choose, the last time you had to choose between pride and humbling yourself? What did I choose?

When was the last time you really sought God in prayer? When did I?

Or do we just go through the motions?

When was the last time you sought God for His face and not just His hand? I’m asking myself the same thing.

Are we willing to turn from our wicked ways?

It’s an individual choice. If you are, God is ready and willing AND EAGER to hear from Heaven, forgive your sin, and heal our land.

It’s up to you.

  1. Amen Jamie! Its time to stop talking to each other about what’s happening and do Exactly what 2Chronicles 7:14 says. As we do that we can thwart the enemy’s plan and decree new life to America. I call for a 2Chronicle 7:14 rally all across our country.

    1. Yes. Amen. I’m so broken this morning. God, help us. Help. Draw Your people back to Yourself.

    Hi Jamie
You know…….you’re absolutely right. We need 2 Chronicles 7:14
    prayer for our nation.
I was watching a movie all comfy and cozy on my sofa. Little did I know the horror that was happening in Dallas.
I knew about the killings caused by police brutality because I had seen the news as I sat in a nail salon having some ME TIME.
I don’t even watch the news anymore in my home. I generally hear bits and pieces and then go to the Internet to find out more.
But this morning my boyfriend told me what had happened last night as I sat peacefully watching a movie. I’m devastated.
I wouldn’t have known on my own to go to 2 Chronicles 7, had it not been for your blog.
As you know I have been struggling with my prayer life and I am learning one step at a time how to pray God’s word back to him. And so I sit now about to pray for our Nation……..but I admit that I am fearful because of all the violence lately I confess that as I sat in the first seat at my nail salon yesterday; I saw 2 men of Indian descent walking by. (salon is in the mall) I prayed at that moment for protection for that shopping plaza.
After watching the movie last night,I text my son goodnight and I love him and I went to bed. I was awake until midnight and I found myself praying for God to help me sleep as I do suffer from anxiety and insomnia. Never did I think that perhaps God had wanted me to be awake and turn on the news and PRAY for our nation. I don’t know why I don’t get it…….but I will try to be more sensitive to the prompting of the holy spirit from now on.
    Thank you for today’s posting.
Thank you for praying for our nation and for giving me a wake up call so to speak.
    God bless and keep you,
    Gina

    1. Gina, thank you for sharing. We must rise up and seek Him. I’m so excited for you about what Papa is doing in your life and especially in the area of teaching you how to pray Scripture. He will always answer those prayers and He will fill you with indomitable power as you pray also! I pray we would all do that. God, we need You.

  3. Clement Amoah says:

Yes! the Church is sleeping, not humble, not ready to pray, not ready to seek the face of God all because they are at peace in comfort homes.
We only get mad when God allow the enemy to shake us small.
I agree with you Sister Jamie, the Church must wake up from sleeping, we need to arise and pray.
Yes the nation, our family, neighbors need Christ. Only the church can give Christ through our prayers. The early Church prayed and God moved so mightily in them.
Racism and violence can only be stopped by praying and lifting Jesus Christ high.
Yes! its a must to ask God forgiveness, humble ourselves by seeking the face of God for deliverance.
God bless you woman of God, Jamie.

    1. Yes. We as the Body of Christ must fast and pray, brother. If we will, we can turn our nations back to God.

I’ve been concerned about this for a long time, even the Roots remake and a series called Underground. While I view it as history, it is a deep subject among African Americans. I pray for leaders to take a hand in this as many young people are “slaves” to other things like drugs, and fathering and abandoning children. Black, hispanic, and white alike. Joseph was a slave and God promoted him. He probably hated his brothers in the natural sense, but knew forgiveness made him more powerful, the better man. Come on men, step up.

    1. Yes. Not to mention that the genocide of a people group is happening via abortion, as African-American children are being slaughtered and women left to die, in a recent news case. God, have mercy on all Your sons and daughters and save us.

  5. Amen! Sis it’s time to be & step into our prayer warrior position. The kingdom of God suffers violence & the violent take it by force. P.U.S.H.
    Pray/Prophesy Until Something Happens?⚓️??❤️

    1. LOVE the PUSH acronym, Liset! Love it! Yes, we’ve got to prophesy to those dry bones, for the Lord says they can live! <3

  6. God bless you all. Is time for us has a warriors to arise and call on the name of Jesus to heal the world. I am a African woman, half of my in laws are white. Which I don’t want any bad things to happen to them at all. In my country we treat whites people has kings and Queens. We needs to pray, because we are at the end time. The devil taking so many souls to hell which we don’t want. I am starting prayer with few groups of women from week to seek the face of God.

    1. I’m so glad you’re meeting with others to pray, Comfort. Would that we all did that! God, help us to seek You and obey You, so You can heal our lands, in Jesus’ name!

From the outside (I’m from Quebec, Canada), it seems the easiness of buying guns in the USA is a big big problem. It’s not normal that you can buy a gun at Walmart. I’m not for a government type of gun control, but a solution needs to be found because you’re on the verge of civil war and things won’t change for the better.

    1. I don’t support gun control, Rafael, but I sure do support a heart change. We need a heart change as a nation here in the US. That we would turn back to God.
P.S. I’ll be emailing you in the next few days regarding our most recent correspondence.
      Have a great day!
