God Who Rewards You

This entry is part 5 of 10 in the series Who is God?

When you accept God’s salvation, submit to His Lordship, and seek Him diligently, He will bless you for it. He is, after all, God Who Rewards You.

Hebrews 11:6 says, “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”

This verse plainly tells us that God rewards us if we seek Him in faith.

God’s rewards are awesome, too! Among other things, He has promised:

    • to meet all of our spiritual, emotional, and physical needs;
    • to comfort us during hard times;
    • to give us a passion to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with others;
    • to give us “a deep sense of security;”
    • to provide the material items we need;
    • to help us keep from sinning against Him;
    • to teach us and grow us spiritually;
    • to heal our bodies; and
    • to return in person and take us to Heaven at the end of our mortal lives, to live with Him there forever. [1]

    These benefits are of eternal, priceless value to the Christian. Although our Father’s benefits and gifts (outside of relationship with Himself) must not be our chief aim, they are wonderful and we can’t live victorious lives without them!

    Additionally, God’s rewards are proof of how wise it is for anyone to seek God.

    God rewards those who diligently seek Him. Hebrews 11:6 says:

    “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him” (Hebrews 11:6 NKJV).

    God’s rewards are amazing! He gives rewards of every kind. And only a sovereign God could be so good to His children, even though we can’t ever do anything to deserve these benefits. But that’s ok; He doesn’t expect us to. While we seek His face, obey Him, and worship Him, it pleases our God to sweep us up in His embrace and pour out His goodness upon us. {Tweet this!}

    1. What’s He done lately? Well; I went to bed last night feeling very peculiar, and by that I mean pretty good! (Which has been peculiar for me indeed in recent months…)

      Yes, there’s been some of the usual bouts of sadness and stress, but otherwise… the last week or so has been nice!

      But, really; The Lord has strengthened my faith in Him like I prayed for. I’ve felt more secure and faithful in Him, and it feels more simple and natural then before… no playing mind games with myself to convince myself of it, just… the faith is there and I trust again.

      I’ve been more able to focus on Him and nurture that faith too. I’ve had hiccups but I’m getting back up more smoothly. (No endlessly berating myself, I can receive more of His grace and get back on track without a mistake derailing my entire day or week.)

      I’ve noticed my appetite has increased too! Of course I do have to be more careful not to make myself sick – it felt like my stomach was the size of a walnut before, now I’ve been borderline ravenous – but I’m grateful for it and it seems worth mentioning!

      Also, I’ve been consistently able to go to sleep at night and get up in the morning at proper times!!! This is great for me and I’ve prayed for it to happen!!!!

      And this is a silly one, but I even was able to take a short PlayStation 2 break recently – yes its a 14 year-old console and works like a charm – and I was speaking with the Lord throughout gameplay, and would you believe I won by 40 points against my opponent within a span of 10 seconds left to the game after I asked Him for help??

      (I know some might call that a stretch, but I’m telling you, it was the Lord helping me and being with me even in something small as playing a game, I was so bad at that game otherwise until the end of the round!!!)

      Just wanted to share all of these things. Our Father is definitely doing a big, noticeable work in not just mine, but everyone’s lives right now, big and small. 🙂
