Morning and Night: 21 Days of Praying for Your Ministry | by Jamie Rohrbaugh | FromHisPresence.com

Welcome to Day 4 of Morning and Night: 21 Days of Praying for Your Ministry! Today, in the morning, we are praying for the ability to trust quietly in the Lord, rather than walking in anxiety. And in the evening, we are praying some extraordinary Scriptures for your family and spiritual children to be saved and discipled by God.

First, to build your faith for our morning prayer points, read these Scriptures about trusting quietly in the Lord:

Psalm 61:1-4: “Hear my cry, O God; attend to my prayer. From the end of the earth I will cry to You, when my heart is overwhelmed; lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For You have been a shelter for me, a strong tower from the enemy. I will abide in Your tabernacle forever; I will trust in the shelter of Your wings. Selah” (Psalm 61:1-4 NKJV).

Philippians 4:6-7: “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7 NKJV).

    Isaiah 40:27-31:

“Why do you say, O Jacob, and speak, O Israel: ‘My way is hidden from the Lord, and my just claim is passed over by my God’?

Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength.

Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, but those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint” (Isaiah 40:27-31 NKJV).

Lamentations 3:21-32: “This I recall to my mind, therefore I have hope. Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.

“The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I hope in Him!” The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him. It is good that one should hope and wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord. It is good for a man to bear the yoke in his youth. Let him sit alone and keep silent, because God has laid it on him; let him put his mouth in the dust—there may yet be hope. Let him give his cheek to the one who strikes him, and be full of reproach.

For the Lord will not cast off forever. Though He causes grief, yet He will show compassion according to the multitude of His mercies” (Lamentations 3:21-32 NKJV).

Then, pray through the following prayer points:

    • Thank the Lord for being the One Who keeps you steady and stable, even on days when you don’t feel steady and stable.
    • Thank Him for being the Rock on Whom you can depend. Praise Him for the fact that, when your heart is overwhelmed, you can come to Him; for He is the Rock that is higher than you are!
    • Ask the Lord to help you be anxious for nothing; but in everything, with prayer and supplication, to make all your requests known to Him.
    • Pray that, as you do pour out your heart to Him in prayer each day, He would give you the peace that He promises in His Word–that peace which passes all understanding.
    • Ask Him to make you a man/woman of prayer and of His Word.
    • Ask Him to pour out on you His Spirit of grace and supplication, so that His Holy Spirit helps you pray every day.
    • Petition the Lord to help you trust quietly in Him, and not to worry or be upset.
    • Ask the Lord to fill you with hope and courage today and every day.
    • Ask Him to help you wait on Him every day, even when it’s hard to wait.
    • Pray that the Lord will renew your strength daily as you wait on Him.
    • Pray for the multitude of God’s mercies and faithfulness to be manifest to you, and in every aspect of your life.

Then, pause and take some time to pour out your heart to the Lord about everything that troubles you.

Remember what it says in Psalm 55:22:

“Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved” (Psalm 55:22 NKJV).

Beloved, you may have come into your time with the Lord feeling burdened, but you can go out feeling free, as long as you cast all your troubles upon Him–for He cares for you! And He makes all things new in His presence; in the presence of God is fullness of joy:

“You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore” (Psalm 16:11 NKJV).

You’ll never regret taking the time to have long times of prayer alone with the Lord. 🙂

In the evening, we are praying for your family and spiritual children to be saved and discipled by God.

First, read the the following Scriptures to build your faith:

Isaiah 54:13-18: “All your children shall be taught by the Lord, and great shall be the peace of your children. In righteousness you shall be established; you shall be far from oppression, for you shall not fear; and from terror, for it shall not come near you. Indeed they shall surely assemble, but not because of Me. Whoever assembles against you shall fall for your sake.

Behold, I have created the blacksmith who blows the coals in the fire, who brings forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the spoiler to destroy. No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me,” says the Lord” (Isaiah 54:13-18 NKJV).

Acts 16:31: “So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household”” (Acts 16:31 NKJV).

Jeremiah 31:16-17: “Thus says the Lord: “Refrain your voice from weeping, and your eyes from tears; for your work shall be rewarded, says the Lord, and they shall come back from the land of the enemy. There is hope in your future, says the Lord, that your children shall come back to their own border (Jeremiah 31:16-17 NKJV, emphasis mine).

And friend, if you’re believing God for the salvation of a prodigal child or family member, cling to these promises in faith.

    Pray as follows:

    • Thank God for His promises to personally disciple your children.
    • Ask Him to personally teach each of your children (both your biological/adopted children and your spiritual children), and to disciple them into holiness and intimacy with Him.
    • Claim His promise in Isaiah 54:13-18 and ask the Lord to bring your children into great peace/shalom, with nothing missing and nothing broken in their lives, which is His best, highest, and perfect will for them.
    • Remind the Lord that His Word says that no weapon formed against you will prosper.
    • The enemy’s wiles to destroy your children are certainly a weapon being used against your family, so ask the Lord to destroy every enemy weapon that is being used against you and your family.
    • Pray that the Lord would send division between your loved ones and every source of evil influence in their lives.
    • Ask Him to bring holy counselors and righteous influences into your family’s lives, and pray that THOSE would be the only voices that your children/loved ones pay attention to.
    • Point out to the Lord that you do believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and therefore He has promised that you will be saved AND your household will be saved too. Claim this promise and ask Him to save your children/spouse/family.
    • Thank the Lord that His Word says in Jeremiah 31:16-17 that your children SHALL come back from the land of the enemy.
    • Thank Him that His Word says there IS hope in your future that your children shall come back to their own border (the “border” being your family and the godly way you raised them).
    • Thank Him for saving your children, and give Him all the praise!

Beloved, “There is hope in your future, says the Lord, that your children shall come back to their own border.”

Isn’t that an amazing promise? I hope it encourages you today. Whether you are praying for your natural children or your spiritual children, GOD is moving in their hearts in answer to your prayers right now.

    1. Mark, Sr. says:

I’ve been praying for my son who left the spiritual way that he grew up and hasn’t been in touch with me for over a year. These scriptures give me hope that he will return as long as I continue to pray and believe!! Please pray for my son, Mark, to battle the demons he’s facing by asking for god’s mercy and grace and freely receiving it. I will continue to trust in the lord for his safe return!!

    2. Dale Walsh says:

I needed this so much. Divorce greatly harmed my relationship with my daughters. I tried to repair the relationships and nothing worked. In the last few months I have been praying for restoration. These verses confirm that is the right path. I love my daughters deeply and pray for closeness with them.

    5. They did and they gave me so much encouragement! My children, brother and cousins are saved in Jesus name, and through them, I know many other lives will be saved. Praise the Lord.

    6. Praise God for more spiritual truths and ‘swords’ to keep fighting for the return of my daughter.
Thank you Jamie for your ministry – it continues to encourage me daily.
