21 Days to Strengthen Your Faith | by Jamie Rohrbaugh | FromHisPresence.com

Welcome to Day 4 of 21 Days to Strengthen Your Faith! Today, we are talking about two more specific blessings that God gave Abraham, and how to pray for those blessings of Abraham to be manifest in your life!

In this series, we will examine one short Scripture passage each day.

Then, we will pray through it with a brief series of bullet-point prayers. Each day, our goal is to strengthen our faith by gaining greater revelation about the importance of faith in our lives, and how faith WORKS.

As you strengthen your faith each day, your confidence in God will grow–and you will also begin feeling more brave and willing to go on the great adventures God has for you!

Our key Scripture passage today is Galatians 3:9, which says:

“So then those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham” (Galatians 3:9 NKJV).

And since you ARE of faith, you are blessed with believing Abraham! But what does that blessing look like?

Well, in addition to the major blessings we talked about in yesterday’s devotional and prayer points about the blessing of Abraham from Genesis 12, God continued to provide details about the blessing of Abraham throughout the course of Abraham’s life. Let’s look at two more blessings He pronounced on Abraham–blessings to which you are entitled, in Christ. I pray these blessings will inspire your faith to greater heights!

Blessing 1: All the land which you see.

In Genesis 13, the Lord promised Abraham all the land which he saw. Look at this Scripture:

“And the LORD said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him: “Lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are—northward, southward, eastward, and westward; for all the land which you see I give to you and your descendants forever” (Genesis 13:14-15 NKJV).

Well, in Christ, you are entitled to this blessing too: all the land which you see the Lord gives to you.

That doesn’t mean that you’ll become the king of the whole earth. But it does mean that all the spiritual territory that is in your vision–everything upon which you have set your eye and asked God to give you by promise–He will. He will give you everything you ask for. After all, Jesus said the same thing in John 14:14:

“If you ask anything in My name, I will do it” (John 14:14 NKJV).

Yes, you have a blank check with God. All the things which you see for your life, He will give you if you seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness:

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you” (Matthew 6:33 NKJV).

Here is another part of the covenant blessing God gave Abraham in Genesis 15:1:

“After these things the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision, saying, ‘Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward’” (Genesis 15:1 NKJV).

Blessing 2 is the fact that God is your shield, your exceedingly great reward.

Psalm 91 promises that God Himself will shield us from all harm, danger, malintent, and enemy attack if we will do these things:

    • dwell in the secret place of the Most High and abide under His shadow;
    • SAY of the Lord that He is our refuge and our fortress, our God, in whom we shall trust.

Everything you see was created by the spoken word.

So if you have nothing except the ability to speak, you can still create anything you want. You can be like God and speak those things that are not as if they already were (Romans 4:17)!

God is your shield, your exceedingly great reward.

And if you’ve spent any time with Him at all in one-on-one encounter, you know how true this is. In the presence of God is fullness of joy, and at His right hand are pleasures forevermore:

“You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore” (Psalm 16:11 NKJV).

There is nothing sweeter than God; Jesus is like sweet nectar for your body, soul, and spirit. And nothing is more satisfying than His manifest presence; nothing on this planet is greater than knowing Him.

Plus, who doesn’t need a shield and a reward?

Let’s face it: this life is difficult, painful, and challenging sometimes. We all need Him to be our shield, and we all need Him to reward us. His presence, His blessings, and His rewards make it worthwhile to keep pushing through another day, even when times are hard.

So are you ready to pray for these two more specific blessings of Abraham?

    Let’s pray as follows:

    • Tell the Father that you come before Him in Jesus’ name.
    • Thank Him for grafting you in to the blessing and covenant that He gave Abraham.
    • Thank Him for His Word, which says He will give you everything you ask for in Jesus’ name.
    • Thank Him for promising to give Abraham, and therefore you, all the territory that is in his and your vision.
    • Ask Him to help you discern and plan what He wants you to do to occupy all the territory He has for you.
    • Pray that He will personally deliver your territory into your hand!
    • Thank Him for being your shield, and your exceedingly great reward.
    • Ask Him to shield you today from everything that would assail you.
    • Ask Him to hide you in His bubble of glory, right under His wings, where no one can see you or find you in the stillness and safety of His presence.
    • Pray that He will reward you today!
    • Ask Him to help you pray in your room with the door closed; to give alms to the poor without telling anyone about it; and to fast and pray without bragging about it to others–for all three of those things carry specific rewards in Heaven!
    • Pray that the Lord would also manifest His rewards to you on earth, right now, today!
    • As He delivers rewards to you today, ask Him to show you which rewards correspond to which acts of your obedience unto Him!
    • Pray that He would draw you to Himself and help you to know Him better, for HE, personally, is your ultimate reward.
    • Pray that you would love Him like He deserves to be loved today–with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength.
    • Thank Him for being your shield, your exceedingly great reward, your portion, and your cup!
