Prayer for Raw Power

Do you desire to be filled with God’s raw power? Do you want to flow in power every day, walking before the Lord in miracles, signs, and wonders?

Do you also want all who encounter you to have a life-changing encounter with God Himself even as they speak with you, or are even in the same room where you are? If so, you are going to want to pray this prayer to be filled with God’s raw power.

In Acts 1:8, Jesus promised us that the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit would produce His power in us.

He said:

“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth” (Acts 1:8 NKJV).

When Jesus promised this, He also left us with the charge to witness to all the earth about Himself. Matthew 28:18-20 tells us:

“And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, ‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.’ Amen” (Matthew 28:18-20 NKJV).

We have many aspects to our assignment here on the earth while we await the returning of the Lord. But perhaps the biggest task we are to accomplish is literally to tell people everywhere we go about Jesus, and teach them to do all that He has commanded. And in order to accomplish this task, Jesus has endowed us with His power by His Holy Spirit.

Why is Christ’s power necessary?

We have to be filled with God’s raw power for many reasons, including but not limited to:

• How can we witness for others and tell people how wonderful Jesus is if we portray Him as weak and powerless, instead of strong and powerful?
• How can we walk through the stresses and strains of life on a personal level without the vital, indwelling power of God that is manifest to us by His Holy Spirit?
• As beloved children of God, we ought to be portraying our Father properly—as strong and powerful, not as weak or confused. Anything else creates an idol (false god) in people’s hearts, because they develop an image of God in their head that truly looks nothing like God actually is. If we are to evangelize, we need to show people who God truly is—and that is POWERFUL.
• When people ask us for help (e.g. counsel or prayer), they are begging for an encounter with God. They need God’s help! And if we are not filled with the Spirit, power, and manifest presence of the Lord, what’s the point in our trying to be His hands and feet?

Friends, we have to have the power of God!

Why pray for people or minister to people if nothing happens when we do? If we are going to heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons, and freely give as we have already and freely received, then we have to operate in God’s RAW POWER in order to be able to see Him touch these people at the point of their need!

It is absolutely important and essential—vital, even—for all of God’s people, to return to being filled with the raw power of God’s Holy Spirit.

Walking in power was God’s original design for His Church, and all the individual people in it, to be filled with His power—and we cannot live effectively nor spread the Gospel effectively without God’s raw power being displayed through us.

If so, the prayer below is for you.

In the prayer below, I chose to address this subject seriously and soberly with the Lord, as the topic warrants. Therefore, this prayer is methodical and somber, but also humble and transparent with the Lord.

I hope this written prayer will give you a framework for your thoughts and heart cry, and that it will help you present your desire to the Lord to flow in His manifest, raw power on the earth.

If you desire to be filled with the raw power of God, flowing in His manifest and visible power every single day, pray this prayer right now:

“Dear Heavenly Father, I come to You in Jesus’ name.

Abba Father, thank You for listening to me pray today and every day. I desire to pour out my heart to You right now, but I need Your help to do it. Therefore, I am boldly coming before Your throne of grace, where I can obtain mercy, and grace to help in time of need.

Lord God, would You please help me pray right now by Your Spirit?

I confess, according to Romans 8, that I don’t know what to pray for as I ought, or how to offer it up to You worthily as I ought.

But please, Lord, in Jesus’ name, I ask that Your Holy Spirit would make intercession for me with moanings and groanings which cannot be uttered, and that You Who search the hearts would know what the mind of the Spirit is, for He makes intercession for me according to Your will.

Father God, I thank You and praise You for Who You are.

Thank You for being so good and kind to me. Thank You for being so merciful. Thank You for coming through for me time after time; for being faithful to me, no matter what; and for having good plans for my life.

You are good, and Your mercy endures forever. I praise You today for it, and for Your great majesty and presence in my life.

Holy Father, I admit today that I need You so much.

I can’t do anything without You at any time; Your Word says that without You I can do nothing. But, You also said that I can do all things through Christ Who strengthens me. I thank You for that—for sending Your Spirit and Your Son to make me alive in You, and to dwell together by the blood of Jesus.

Abba Father, I know that Your grace is sufficient for me, and that Your strength is made perfect in my weakness. I also know that it is Your desire to use me as Your hands and feet on the earth. And Your Word says that the Kingdom of God is not in meat and drink, but in righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit; and that Your Kingdom is not in word but in power.

Lord, You have already made me the righteousness of God in Christ. You did it when You saved me, and I thank You for it. And I have Your joy because I walk in Your presence, and in Your presence is fullness of joy.

Thank You for Your joy, Lord; for joy, which is a fruit of the Spirit, only comes from You. You are my peace also, and my refuge from the storm. So I have righteousness, peace, and joy in You already.

But, Father, I feel like I have not flowed in very much of Your power yet, and I want to. I want to be filled with Your power, so I can represent You well on the earth!

Father, all the power in Heaven and earth is Yours. You are the One Who speaks ‘Peace, be still’ to storms—and they cease. You cause wars to end by Your sovereign command.

You heal the sick and raise the dead by the power of Your Word. You spoke, and the universe was created. And all this is done by the power of Your Holy Spirit—that same Holy Spirit Who dwells in me.

Abba Father, if the same Holy Spirit Who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in me, then that means that all that You are, and all You can do, are within me right now. I thank You for this. And I thank You for all You have already done for me.

However, Father, I know that You have the potential and the power to do so much more through me, in me, and for me—all by the POWER of Your Holy Spirit. And You said that You do exceedingly abundantly ABOVE all we could ask or think, according to the power that works in us.

Father, I desire to walk in Your power because Your Word says that walking in power is Your will for my life.

Therefore, Abba Father, I ask today in Jesus’ name:

• Please fill me once again, or even for the first time, with the raw power of Your Holy Spirit.
• Supercharge me with Your power, Lord: not a little, but a lot!
• Baptize me anew and afresh with Your power, love, and sound mind.
• Flow through me in power to the outside world, everywhere I go.
• When I pray for someone, please touch them with Your power—every time. Without exception.
• When I speak to someone to be healed, please cause them to be healed—every time, and without exception.
• When I prophesy to someone, please let me speak only Your words—and I pray that You will back up those words with Your very Own power, and with the power of Your Spirit. Confirm Your Word with signs, wonders, and miracles, Lord!
• When I lay hands on someone, I pray that they would be absolutely healed, comforted, touched, set free, wrecked in a good way, and transformed by a marvelous encounter with You that changes their lives forever—every time, without exception.
• When it comes to my personal life, please fill me with the power of Your Spirit that helps me walk in victory every day—the same victory that Jesus paid the ultimate price on the cross for me to walk in.
• Help me to get organized and to live life intentionally and on purpose, the way You want me to—walking in those steps of a good man that are ordered by the Lord.
• Help me to be one of the spiritually violent ones You mentioned in Matthew 11:12—one of those who takes the Kingdom by force.
• Let Your power ooze and flow out of me like a thousand rivers, spreading visions of Christ, the anointing of Your Holy Spirit, hope, joy, and the awareness and witness of You everywhere I go.
• Let me burn with love and passion for You, dedicating all my days and all my nights to abiding in Your manifest presence and communing with You.

O Abba Father, I earnestly desire to be a good ambassador for You on the earth.

You have made me Your royal child. You call me a king and a priest unto You. But how can I represent You well on the earth without Your power? I cannot. And I know that Your Spirit already lives in me, but I am asking You outright today for overt displays of power that glorify Jesus everywhere I go.

Let all who see Me see such a representation of You that they bow on their knees to You and worship You, Lord. Touch them and me with Your power and Your grace today, in Jesus’ name. And let me and all whom I serve and bear witness to rejoice and be glad in You because of Your power flowing through us all, to us all, and touching us all.

Thank You, Abba Father. In Jesus’ mighty name I pray, amen.”

Beloved, let’s remind ourselves today of what Jesus promised us:

“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth” (Acts 1:8 NKJV).

You shall receive power. That power is not by our own might nor strength, but by the Spirit of the Living God Who dwells within us. The power is His.

And since His Holy Spirit is in you, then His power is also in you right now. And as you prayed this prayer, you prayed for more releasing and manifestation of that power—both so your life will change, and so that the lives of all those whom you encounter will also change.

It’s time to stop living a mediocre or weak life. God Himself lives within you. And He will baptize you with His power, anew and afresh or for the first time, if you ask Him to do so.
