Day 13: Birthing Your Dream By Promise

Welcome to Day 13 of 21 Days to Strengthen Your Faith! Today, we are talking about birthing your dream by promise.

As a reminder:

In this series, we will examine one short Scripture passage each day.

Then, we will pray through it with a brief series of bullet-point prayers. Each day, our goal is to strengthen our faith by gaining greater revelation about the importance of faith in our lives, and how faith WORKS.

As you strengthen your faith each day, your confidence in God will grow–and you will also begin feeling more brave and willing to go on the great adventures God has for you!

Our key Scripture passage today is Galatians 4:21-26:

“Tell me, you who desire to be under the law, do you not hear the law? For it is written that Abraham had two sons: the one by a bondwoman, the other by a freewoman. But he who was of the bondwoman was born according to the flesh, and he of the freewoman through promise, which things are symbolic.

For these are the two covenants: the one from Mount Sinai which gives birth to bondage, which is Hagar—for this Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia, and corresponds to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children—but the Jerusalem above is free, which is the mother of us all” (Galatians 4:21-26 NKJV).

What is the point for you?

You have choices in life. You can go the way of the works of the flesh, or you can go the way of faith. But you know what? All your promises can only be birthed and received in manifestation by faith.

You can only birth your promises into visible, tangible manifestation by faith.

Yes, you have to do some work and get things done. You’ll have to obey the voice of the Lord and move when He shows you that you ought to move. You do have to go after all that God has promised you with a holy aggression. As Jesus Himself said in Matthew 11:12:

“And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force” (Matthew 11:12 NKJV).

But you do all of that by faith. You are birthing your promises through faith.

And so you must remember that your dream comes by God’s promise–and by your believing that promise and acting on it alone.

Your dream is not yours because you dreamed it up. Your dream is yours because God promised it to you. So whenever you think about that dream, the awareness ought always to circulate in your head that this thing was promised to you.

In other words:

Don’t go about your day thinking of what you can accomplish by the strength of your goals. Instead, move through your day–today and every day–walking in total awareness of the promises God has made to you.

Because the dream that produces freedom is by promise, and you must keep that promise at the top of your thoughts at all times in order to maintain your faith.

You don’t want to birth a Hagar/Ishmael dream–a work of the flesh that produces only bondage. Instead, you want to produce a Sarah/Isaac dream: the manifestation of your promise that comes by faith, and produces freedom for a thousand generations.

Pray as follows to strengthen your faith today, and to birth your dream by promise:

• Tell the Father that you come to Him in Jesus’ name.
• Thank Him for the specific promises He has made to you. (If you aren’t sure of any, find some in the Scriptures that speak to your heart and claim them. That “speaking to your heart” is actually Holy Spirit, affirming that promise to you.)
• Tell the Father that you don’t want to birth anything in the works of the flesh.
• Confess your total inadequacy in the strength of the flesh. But, then also confess your faith in HIS perfect strength and ability.
• Speak out to the Father that nothing is impossible with Him!
• Invite Him to make His strength perfect in your weakness today.
• Ask Him to birth the manifestation of His promises by faith right now in your life.
• Ask Him to help you keep His promises at the forefront of your mind today and always.
• Pray that He would birth all of His promises through you, bringing freedom to a thousand generations.
• Ask Him to deliver you from any works of the flesh. Tell Him that you don’t want any Hagar/Ishmael scenarios in your life.
• Thank Him that He is keeping you for faith.
• Ask Him to help you maintain your faith and strengthen your faith in His Word every day throughout the process of birthing your promises.
• Thank Him, and give Him all the praise!

Beloved, the world is full of tips and methodologies that people claim will bring you success.

Some of those tips are based on Biblical wisdom, and those tips are good. They are simply the practical application of Biblical wisdom.

However, some of the world’s methods are merely the works of the flesh. The world can teach you to strive and drive in your own flesh until you burn yourself out. And that is not from God.

The best way you can find success in life is to simply follow God.

Hear God and say what He says. See God; get to know His ways and mimic Him. Read His Word and obey Him, becoming a doer of the Word and not a hearer only. As you do these things, obeying Him every day, you will find yourself birthing your dreams by promise. The promises of God are “yes” and “amen,” and your calling and election are sure.
