Does your heart burn and yearn for the glory of God to be manifest in your life? If so, would you pray with me today for the Lord to glorify His own name?
Lately, I have just felt desperate for the Lord to glorify Himself in me in whole new ways.
It’s not that He doesn’t already get glory in my life; I pray He does. I live for Him and love Him so much.
Nevertheless, God has been awakening me into deeper levels of yearning for Him to demonstrate His power, His BIG-ness, and His wondrous works through my life. I want the world to see Him how He really is, and I want Him to use me as His signpost to point to Jesus.
Don’t you want that too?
Does your heart burn within you to dream dreams worthy of God? To demonstrate His power through unbridled, absolute faith that moves mountains? For people to look upon you and see His power and His glory; to see His holiness exhibited in your life?
Don’t you want people passing by to do a double-take and look at you again, captivated, because they see the untarnished, unleashed goodness and majesty of God on your face, in your life …
… and demonstrated in all the works that you do?
You can have that.
You can be so submitted to God and so in love with Him that you just walk around unleashing Heaven on earth. YOU can be a manifester, a carrier, a conduit of Heaven and of God Himself so that every encounter with you, and everything you do, demonstrate WHO HE IS.
YOU can be the one He uses to glorify His own name.
Just as Jesus prayed, “Father, glorify Your own name,” so you can pray the same thing. And just as Jesus prayed and God answered:
“Now My soul is troubled, and what shall I say? ‘Father, save Me from this hour’? But for this purpose I came to this hour. Father, glorify Your name.’ Then a voice came from heaven, saying, “I have both glorified it and will glorify it again.”
Therefore the people who stood by and heard it said that it had thundered. Others said, “An angel has spoken to Him.” Jesus answered and said, “This voice did not come because of Me, but for your sake” (John 12:27-30).
… YOU can pray, and God will answer YOUR prayer too.
His answer may not come in the form of an audible voice (but you never know; it may). It may be in the form of moving powerfully in your life. It may first even take the form of changing your heart, your life, your circumstances. It may even take the form of pruning (that’s pretty much guaranteed for all of us).
But it will come. Father God will answer. He will NEVER deny your request to be used for His glory.
So are you ready? Pray with me for God to get crazy amounts of glory in your life:
“Father God, in Jesus’ name, I just want to tell you I love You today. I love You so much. I worship You and I praise You and I adore You. I could never tell You enough, Lord, how much You mean to me.
Father, I want to live for You. I want to honor You with everything in me. I want to glorify You and lift You up and magnify Your name.
But Father, what I want to do for You is beyond my capacity to do.
Father, I want You to get so much glory in my life that it just freaks people out. I want people to do a double-take when they pass me on the street, because they look at me and see Your power and Your holiness. I want them to see the beauty of Your sanctuary, O Lord, when they even catch a glimpse of me.
And Lord, that kind of glory is something You are going to have to give Yourself in my life.
I can’t do it by myself, Lord, but Your Word says that You will glorify the house of Your glory (Isaiah 60:7), and You will glorify me AS Your house–as a place to demonstrate Your own glory and majesty (Isaiah 60:9)–and You will beautify the place of Your sanctuary and make the place of Your feet glorious (Isaiah 60:13).
And Father, I am Your house. I am the temple of the Holy Spirit; not my own, but purchased with the precious blood of Jesus, Your Lamb slain from the foundation of the world; Your Lamb without spot or blemish. I am Yours; Your temple, the house of Your building. In Christ, I am the place of Your sanctuary; and since You fill me up and live inside me, then Your feet are in my feet.
So Father, I ask that You would make me–this place of Your feet–glorious:
- That You would endue me with so much of Your glory that people stop and gaze at You in awe–not looking at me, but seeing You;
- That You would cover me with Your majesty and that people would see how incredible You are when they see me;
- That You would use me to do greater works than Jesus did, according to the words Jesus spoke here on earth, so that You can get crazy glory in me; and
- That You would absolutely use me as Your playground to flaunt Your greatness, Your power, Your goodness, Your provision, Your glory, Your love, Your kindness, and the works of Your hand to the world.
Father God, glorify Your own name in me!
Get crazy amounts of glory in my life, Father God; and glorify the name of Your Son Jesus. Elevate Christ in my life. Lift Him up, and help me to lift Him up. Your Word says that, when Jesus is lifted up, He will draw all men to Himself. And He WAS lifted up on the cross; so now, Abba Father, USE ME to demonstrate JESUS to the world:
- Use me to demonstrate His beauty;
- Use me to demonstrate His mercy;
- Use me to demonstrate His salvation;
- Use me to demonstrate His worthiness;
- Use me to demonstrate His holiness;
- Use me to demonstrate His worship to the world!
Oh Father, do in me what I could never do myself!
Use me more than I could ever imagine or volunteer for! Use me to carry out those great exploits that You planned for me before the foundation of the world! Unleash the captive dreams that You are dreaming for me; fill me with God-thoughts, God-ideas, God-wisdom, God-pathways, God-inspiration, God-motivation, God-desires!
Abba Father, glorify Your own name in me.
Get crazy amounts of glory in me, Father. Lift Yourself up on my praise. Be enthroned on the praises of my heart and my life as I pour out my heart in worship to You.
I love You, Abba Father. Thank You in advance for hovering over my life and carrying out the things that are worthy of You. Let my life be a credit, a praise, and an offering to you; and with long life, You will satisfy me and show me Your salvation.
Thank You, Papa God. In Jesus’ holy, wonderful, and precious name, amen.”

This morning my sister and I were at our father’s village and got concerned that people hardly know who Jesus is and I felt the need to do something. How I don’t know. This is very relevant for me.

It is sometimes hard to articulate that any leap of faith- any risk – any use of my gifts are for His glory — for the pure chance that just maybe He could get more credit and pluck a string in someone’s heart.. that any risk to use what He’s given me are simply obedient leaps in hopes that He would be pleased, and that He would draw all men to Himself. Father God never ceases to amaze me. My friend and I just had a discussion today before I got your email linking to this prayer. I was telling her how I want God to get all the glory for how He has enabled me to endure this past year since my husband left me. And just the whole mess our marriage has become. God told me He is working this situation out, not to focus on my husband but to focus on Him, and to leave my husband alone. God has been faithful to me and has continued to encourage me not to give up, when the world says I have every reason to give up on my husband. Gods timing is PERFECT! Your prayer was such a blessing and more encouragement from God that He will get all the glory for the restoration and resurrection of my marriage. This is just another way God has spoken to me to not give up. He knows my desire to give Him all the glory and further His kingdom from this storm. I count it all joy. His peace in my life surpasses all understanding. Praise God!

If we are honest, this one scared me. I had to go through it twice today. Once I Became more and more fearful of being “seen”. I am a behind the scenes person. I will love and pray and encourage and hold the hand of a friend through rough times, but being seen, letting myself be seen in order for God to be glorified? That is terrifying to me.
Thank you for this prayer as it pushes me out of my comfort zone and forces me to stop being tucked away in God’s work.
