Friend, are you being overwhelmed with challenges right now? If so, I believe that the Lord wants to encourage you with His grace today, taking you into a new level of intimacy with Him this month in very specific ways.
Here’s what I am sensing God is doing in October 2023:
- He is testing our faith, and our ability to abide in Jesus during hard times.
- He is challenging us in our love-walk.
- He is calling us to rest more deeply in Him.
- He is warning us of things to come, and helping us build a proverbial ark that will help us navigate future waters.
- He is manifesting Himself to His people as a calming, steadying influence during rough seas, fierce storms, and the nonstop assault of wave after wave of challenges. That calming, steadying grace you feel with you that is keeping you? That is Jesus Himself, manifesting Himself to you.
Friend, here are some examples of what I see the Lord doing in October:

7 Prayers to Pray Over Your Character
If you want to be more like Jesus, get the book and pray these 7 prayers every week! You can use it as a rotating prayer plan. Memorize the key points of the prayers and cry out to the Lord daily! He will transform you as you pray, and you will draw ever closer to Jesus.
- You have stepped out in obedience to God under the knowledge that whatever is not of faith is sin. It doesn’t look like God is keeping His Word to come through for you yet, but please remember that there is this thing called “time” that comes between seedtime and harvest. It’s “seed, time, and harvest.” Your harvest WILL come if you do not faint in your faith. But, remember that he who doubts will not receive anything from the Lord. So, stand firm in your faith that He HAS answered, even if you don’t see the answer manifested yet!
- I believe the Lord is convicting those with an ear to hear about how to walk in love at a greater and deeper level. This involves things like not saying certain things that are contentious, even when they are true. It involves things like believing the best of people when they give you no evidence that they deserve to have you believe the best of them. It means refining our speech, so that we speak no evil of others. These things are challenging, but they are oh so vital along the journey of becoming like Jesus. Press into Jesus and ask Him to teach you how to love this month, okay?
- Even when things aren’t okay and you don’t feel okay, it’s still necessary to rest. We cannot solve our own problems; without Jesus we can do nothing. We are merely the branches; He is the Vine. In this month, I believe there is a blessing for those who are willing to rest in Jesus–and rest physically–even when all doesn’t seem well or right in your life.
- I believe the Lord is teaching us to walk in greater levels of wisdom this month, particularly with regard to the future. He is showing us places where we need to shore up the walls and defend the cities of our homes, families, and businesses. Listen to the Lord, and you will find yourself grateful in future months for the safety net He is helping you implement this month!
- Jesus is with you to keep you. I will say it again: Jesus is with you to keep you. Jesus Himself is walking with you, standing with you right now, holding your very cells together when you feel like you have lost your mind and can’t find yourself. JESUS is with you; He will preserve your soul–which includes your mind, will, and emotions. Remember this all month, for there will be challenges, but you are getting to know JESUS in ways you didn’t know Him before. You will find at a whole new level this month that Jesus is everything!

Thank you for this revelation I’ve been battling unforeseen circumstances that I’ve couldn’t gotten through these few days, months without the guidance of Jesus.
Your prophetic word for October greatly resonated with me today. As I found that I have had to keep quiet for the sake of not being contentious with my family and friends even though I wanted to speak truth boldly. I have found that I have to walk in love with the closest people to me even when I knew they were talking about about me and it hurt. The Lord continues to call me to rest in this season even though I feel like I am not being productive. Your email on getting your house in order falls along this line. I am confused at time on how things “seems” to be not working but I know it’s a part of His plan but I don’t know what the plan is. Great trust is what I am sensing. Thank you for sharing this.

Wow. This is the 4th time I have seen a word from God saying Warning, y ( warning or watch out, be alert, don’t be decieved) today. It’s your #4 too so that’s a double! I am going on a 2 day road trip with a friend today and I will share this warning and we will pray before driving!!!!
