No matter what your storm looks like, I believe the Lord wants us all to learn the following keys in this season. These ten keys are Scriptural truths that will help us stay stable if we can only keep them in mind, no matter how the wind and waves may assail us.

    The keys are:

    1. Jesus really is our Shepherd, and we shall not be in want.
    2. His provision, help, and comfort don’t always look like we expect them to look; but they are there, nonetheless.
    3. We don’t always understand our circumstances, but all we really need to understand is that He is with us.
    4. We may not see what we want to see yet, but all we really need to see is Him.
    5. We may want the storm to end, but the storm might actually be what is best in our lives right now because of how He is using it to grow us and shape us.
    6. As our Shepherd, He knew what He was doing when He led us into the storm or allowed us to encounter the storm.
    7. But also, as our Shepherd, if we will cling to Him and not run away from Him, He will lead us out of the storm in His good time.
    8. If we will yield to Him and give ourselves to learning every lesson fully that He wants to teach us during this time, the storm will be over sooner than if we resist and refuse to learn.
    9. Now is a time of casting down every idol. It is a time in which we must take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, in order to not be conformed to this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds.
    10. It is a season of pruning: a season in which the Father is cutting us back so that we can bear more and richer and more luscious fruit.

In John 16:33, Jesus told us this:

“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world” (John 16:33 NKJV).

Are you going through a storm you don’t deserve?

If so, Jamie’s book Stable In the Storm: Consecrated Living for Tumultuous Times will help you embrace God’s purposes for allowing your storm, so you can be done with the season of trial and testing sooner!

Order the paperback or download this ebook today, and let the Lord speak to you about His purposes for YOUR storm!

Take heart, my beloved sibling in Christ.

Jesus, who is your Good Shepherd and mine, has overcome the world. I know it feels sometimes like the world is overcoming you. In the middle of any storm, it can feel like the waves are too strong for you; like you’re going under for sure this time; like you just can’t handle anymore; like you’re lost and adrift with no one to help you.

But the reality is that Jesus lives inside you, and He is right there with you. He is closer than close, and all the power in the world dwells in Him.

Yes, even in this storm, Jesus is with you to keep you—to take care of you and tend to you in every way.

Think of how a zookeeper “keeps” (cares for) the animals under his care. Jesus cares for you even more closely than that! For you are not an animal; you are bought with the price of Jesus’ own precious blood. And you are of more value than many sparrows:

“Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows” (Matthew 10:29-31 NKJV).

So even when the wind and the waves rise up against you …

Even when it feels that they are overcoming you …

    Trust in your Keeper.

Trust in the One who knows you best and loves you most.

Trust in your Good Shepherd, who leads you and guides you.

And yes, even though you walk through the valley of the shadow of death, you can get to a place where you fear no evil. You can learn to take notice of His rod, which He uses to protect you and beat off anything that would harm you, and His staff (which He uses to guide you and keep you on the straight and narrow path).

You can find a place where you are steady, stable, and even-keeled, even in this storm.

    1. Thank you for sending this timely word. My car just broke down, but the good news is, I have the favor from my employer to work from home. The good news is, it fell apart at our house and not on a major highway going 70 miles an hour, or while I was picking my son up from school. I believe God is working this out for my good. Praise the Lord!

    3. Hi Jamie

Thank you for the word. This one I did not know how to handle but God gave me peace in the midst of it all. I know He will keep me safe till the storm passes by.

      Stay bless.

    4. This is so good Jamie! Thank you for the encouragement and all the essentials of what God is doing and what we need to know and where we need to focus during the storms. This really helped me see how when we remain trusting in God, focused on Him, it helps Him to have the connection and access to us to do what He’s already wanting to do as a loving Father.

    5. Teresa Bowman says:

I’ve been going through storms for 18 months …, husband abandoned family dec 2022 and filed abruptly for divorce …, the betrayal, manipulation and lies. All financial burden I’ve endured lawsuits from him against me and motions from court …, legal fees and IRS debt …, his mistress …, I can go on and I can see that God loves me …, is teaching and pruning me. Divorce is still pending and debt out of control but I have a lot of peace and love. This is the most faith I’ve had in my life …, if all the above wouldn’t have happened I would have not realigned myself with Christ …, thank you for this message. Love it, a reminder …to self. Keep pressing through
