Prayer to Be Bold As a Lion

Beloved, have you let yourself become intimidated and discouraged by bad circumstances? If so, this prayer to be baptized in boldness, and to once again be bold as a lion, is going to help you today!

Our key Scripture today is Proverbs 28:1, which says:

“The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are bold as a lion” (Proverbs 28:1 NKJV).

Friend, if your ability to get things done, move forward, and conquer obstacles has been crippled by fear, discouragement, or any other bad thing, the BOLDNESS of God can change your life today.

Why?

Because it is GOD’s will for you to be filled with His power, and to be BOLD; where absolutely nothing gets you down, stops you, or even hinders you for a second.

I have struggled with this personally quite a bit this year.

In the past, I used to be exceedingly bold. But, this year, I will admit that unfortunately I have let the difficulty and discouragement of various circumstances overwhelm me and suck the boldness right out of me. But, I don’t want to be intimidated anymore. I want to be bold as a lion, like God says I should be!

When you are bold as a lion, everything changes:

• You wake up in the morning full of courage to start the day.
• You look at all that needs to be done, and you get excited to see how quickly you can do each thing!
• You look at your challenges and remember that nothing is impossible with God!
• You have courage to dream big dreams and have big ideas, and you work hard to carry them out because you believe they will work!

Beloved, you and I may not feel bold in this moment, but God’s grace is sufficient for us–and He will give us the boldness we need, if we will just ask Him for it!

Look at John 14:14:

“If you ask anything in My name, I will do it” (John 14:14 NKJV).

And Matthew 7:7-8:

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened” (Matthew 7:7-8 NKJV).

And 2 Corinthians 12:9-10:

“And He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong” (2 Corinthians 12:9-10 NKJV).

O beloved, you and I may not be able to conjure up boldness in our fleshly strength, but boldness is a gift that God will give you by grace!

And no matter what circumstances ail us, His Word is true! And His righteousness is a gift to us who are hidden in Christ by grace through faith, and therefore everything He has is available to us for the asking–and He will give it all to us by His grace!

Do you believe God can and will make you bold as a lion? Do you want to walk in a holy boldness, without fear of circumstances, and without intimidation? Then it’s time to pray and ask the Lord for the boldness you desire!

If you are ready to ask God to make you bold as a lion, pray this prayer with me today:

“Dear Heavenly Father, I come to You in Jesus’ name.

Abba Father, I don’t know how to pray right now, nor how to offer my prayer worthily as I ought. But I ask, according to Romans 8:26-27, that Holy Spirit would help me pray, and even pray through me and for me right now; and that You Who search the hearts would know what the mind of the Spirit is, for He makes intercession for me according to Your will. Thank You for that.

O Lord God, Your Word says that the righteous are as bold as a lion.

I confess to You today that I have not been bold as a lion, Father. I have been so intimidated and weighed down by many burdens and cares, and I have allowed them to get the better of me. I have been depressed and discouraged, frozen in place, and sometimes unable to get out of bed in the morning.

Abba Father, in Jesus’ name, I humbly ask You to forgive me for these things:

• Forgive me for putting my eyes on circumstances that intimidate me, instead of keeping my eyes on You.
• Forgive me for not moving forward in courage.
• Forgive me for not being bold at all!

O Abba Father, in the mighty name of Jesus, I ask You today to cover me with the blood of Your Son Jesus, and to wash me clean in His blood, and to fill me with Your Holy Spirit again–and with BOLDNESS!

Abba, I want to be bold as a lion–again or for the first time!

Will You help me? Would You please baptize me right now, anew and afresh, in Your Spirit, Your power, Your fire, and Your glory? Would You baptize me once again in Your fire–and will You baptize me and fill me with Your BOLDNESS?

Since boldness is something that righteous people have and do, I know it comes from You. And so, Father God, I humbly ask in Jesus’ name:

• Make me bold as a lion, Lord!
• Help me to look at the circumstances that have intimidated me up ’til now, and make me BOLD to address them.
• Give me Your wisdom, creative ideas, strategies, solutions, and witty inventions to solve all the problems that have been hounding me.
• Help me to walk in holy boldness to carry out all the ideas You give me.

O God, I cannot do these things by myself–but You can make me bold as a lion!

Thank You for doing it, Abba Father. Your Word says that, if I ask anything in Jesus’ name, He will do it and You will do it. And therefore I am asking You for holy boldness today, that I would move forward a transformed person–a BOLD person! I am asking this in Jesus’ name; and I thank You, Father, for doing this for me, and for making me Your righteousness in Christ–and for making me bold as a lion TODAY!

Thank You, Abba Father. Thank You, dear Lord Jesus; and thank You, precious Holy Spirit. I give You all the glory and all the praise, Father. In Jesus’ mighty and matchless name I pray, amen and amen.”

Friend, if you prayed that prayer for boldness, God just gave you what you asked for!

Believe it! Don’t doubt His answers; walk forward now in great boldness of spirit, doing what God shows you to do, and doing it boldly! Let’s look at our Scripture one more time:

“The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are bold as a lion” (Proverbs 28:1 NKJV).

O beloved friend in the Lord, go forth today and be BOLD as a lion–and let the Lion of Judah Himself roar through you all day long!
