Prayer for Major Progress

Have you been waiting a long time for God to answer your prayer? Have you been crying out to Him day and night to help you–and do you long to see MAJOR progress today? If so, this sample prayer for major progress in whatever situation is for you!

Beloved friend, I want to encourage you today.

God is near you. In fact, if you have made Jesus Christ your personal Lord and Savior, then God actually dwells within you. He cannot get nearer than that!

Also, God loves you so much. He loves you so much that He sent His only Son to die a hideous death on the cross to pay the price for your sins. He adores you, and He hears your faintest whisper!

Look at what it says in Psalm 34:18:

“The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite spirit” (Psalm 34:18 NKJV).

Beloved, even if your heart is broken today, God is with you. He is moving on your behalf right now:

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28 NKJV).

And He will help you when you call on His name!

But, sometimes we yearn to see major progress.

Whether you’re praying for help in your marriage; for financial provision; for a new job; for the Lord to send you your divinely-appointed spouse; or for any other thing, sometimes our hearts just need to see God move something major on our behalf today.

Can anybody identify? 🙂

And if your heart longs to see major progress TODAY, then I wrote a sample prayer for you to pray.

But first, just remember that God is always working on your behalf. However, there is often a time period (whether long or short) between the moment you pray and the moment in which you see God’s answers visibly.

The waiting time doesn’t mean there is anything wrong with you, and it doesn’t mean there is anything wrong with your prayer, either. It is simply the way God works. In agriculture, there is seed, time, and then harvest; and that principle applies across all of life.

But, sometimes you just need to see something MOVE.

And not just a little movement; sometimes, your heart desires to see BIG movement–and to see it today. And if that’s where you are, the sample prayer for major progress below is for you.

As you pray, pray in faith, for the Lord will not answer any prayer lifted up to Him in doubt and unbelief. As it says in James chapter 1:

“My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. 

But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways” (James 1:2-8 NKJV).

So, as you pray, be sure you believe that God is good, and that He is ready, willing, and eager to show His goodness to you in visible form today. Okay?

Pray this prayer for major progress if your heart wants to see movement in your situation:

“Dear Heavenly Father, I come before You in Jesus’ name.

Holy Father, thank You for being alive and hearing my cry. Thank You that You are a God Who hears, not like the false gods who cannot. You hear and know even the faintest cries of my heart, and You are God Who helps me every day. Thank You for that.

Father, I praise You for being so good to me. I praise You for working all things out for my good, for only You are a redeeming and restoring God. All praise belongs to You, Lord, and I give You all the glory and honor today.

Heavenly Father, in Jesus’ name, I am here to ask You today for help at a new level.

You see my situation, Lord. You are the only One Who sees and knows all the details–even the details that I cannot know or see. And You see that it appears from my perspective that there has not been much movement in what I have been asking You to do for me, to help me.

However, Lord, I know and freely acknowledge that You are working behind the scenes. You are God Who never stops working, and You are always faithful. Even when I can’t see what You’re doing, You are still moving and shifting things behind the scenes of the world, to work everything out for my good.

I thank You for that, and I acknowledge how good You are–and that You always answer my prayers. Thank You.

However, Father, today–in Jesus’ name–I am asking You for something specific: major progress.

I’m humbly asking You right now, Father, to move in my situation in major and visible ways. As Your friend Moses wrote in Psalm 90:16, “Let Your work appear to Your servants, and Your glory to their children.”

I am desperate to see You move in visible ways, Lord, and I feel like You want me to pray this prayer and ask You for this because I have waited long enough. And although I will continue to wait on You as long as You require, I still believe You to move on my behalf with major progress in visible ways today.

Therefore, Heavenly Father, I humbly ask today that You would show me major, visible progress in what I have been asking You to do:

• Help me and advocate for me, I pray, for Your Holy Spirit is my Advocate; and let me see major progress in Your work toward me in this area this day.
• Provide for all my needs richly, and let me see major progress in Your work in that area this day.
• Open doors for me that no man can ever open, and which no man can ever shut either. Let me, I pray, see major progress in Your work and favor in my life in this area of open doors, this very day.
• Heal what needs to be healed; grow what needs to be grown; teach me what needs to be taught; protect all that needs to be protected; reveal what needs to be revealed; add everything to my life that needs to be added; remove all that needs to be removed; bring back to life all that needs to be resurrected; and bless me in every way, I pray, Father, in Jesus’ name!

O Abba Father, please let me see major progress in all of these areas this very day, I pray, in Jesus’ name.

If there is warfare in the heavenly realm over any of the answers to prayer that You are sending me, as there was in Daniel chapter 10, then please do for me what You did for Your servant Daniel–and even greater–by sending Michael the archangel to cut through the warfare and enforce the victory that Jesus purchased for me on the cross with His Own precious blood.

And if, for some reason, Michael the archangel isn’t the one You desire to send, then I ask in Jesus’ mighty name that You would send my King, Jesus Christ Himself, to speak but a word and make every evil power flee–and to push through to me every answer that You have sent, are sending, and will send. I ask this in Jesus’ name.

O Father, You are so faithful–and I depend totally on You.

Without Jesus, I can do nothing. I am only a baby compared to You; You are the Ancient of Days. And as Solomon said, without You I am but a child, and I do not know how to go out or how to come in.

I need You, Lord. Please give me wisdom, today and every day. If You want me to do something specific in order to bring about this major progress in my situation for which I am asking, then please show me what You want me to do:

• Convict me to do it, and overcome any hesitation on my part to do it.
• Help me to know what You are leading me to do.
• Work through me and help me to actually do it; and watch over Your Word to perform it as I obey You.

Only You can help me each and every day, Lord.

But, You are faithful every single day to do it. Everything about You is good and holy and pure, and You will never let me down. Thank You:

• Thank You for hearing and answering all my prayers, including this one.
• Thank You for giving me major progress in every area about which I have been praying.
• Thank You for the visible results You are sending me today.

Please help me to notice each of Your answers, to acknowledge what You are doing, to thank You, to be truly grateful, and to give You all the praise.

You are good, Lord, and Your mercy endures forever. Thank You for giving me major progress today. It is in Jesus’ mighty and precious name I pray. Amen and amen.”
