Welcome to Day 7 of Morning and Night: 21 Days of Praying for Your Ministry! Today, ask the Lord to make you a mighty man or woman of prayer. And in the evening, we are contending for great BOLDNESS, as the apostles also did in the early church.
Beloved, people and ministries only grow if they are continually on their knees to the Lord, crying out for His help and mercy.
If you want to grow personally, becoming ever more intimate with Jesus, you must pray. If you want to reach people for Christ or even grow your ministry–even if your ministry feels simple, fun, and easy already to you at this time–you still have to pray.
It is only through prayer that we receive the Lord’s help, mercy, sustaining grace, and power flowing freely through our lives. Prayer WORKS.

Look at what Jesus said about the effectiveness of prayer:
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened” (Matthew 7:7-8 NKJV).
Beloved, if you want to be strong in God and fruitful on this earth, you must pray–and pray more than ever before.
To build your faith and conviction about being a mighty person of prayer, read these powerful Scripture verses:
“Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God” (Romans 8:26-27 NKJV).

“If you ask anything in My name, I will do it” (John 14:14 NKJV).
James 4:2-3: “You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures” (James 4:2-3 NKJV).
James 5:16: “Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much” (James 5:16 NKJV).
“And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward.
But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly” (Matthew 6:5-6 NKJV).

Hebrews 4:16: “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:16 NKJV).
Matthew 7:7-11: ““Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!” (Matthew 7:7-11 NKJV).
“Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom” (Luke 12:32 NKJV).
Then, pray as follows:
- Thank the Lord for the privilege of coming before His throne of grace.
- Tell Him that you come before Him in Jesus’ name. (I recommend that you do this every time you pray, right at the top of your prayer.)
- Confess to the Lord that you don’t know what to pray for as you ought, nor how to offer your prayer rightly without His help.
- Ask in Jesus’ name that Holy Spirit would make intercession for you with groanings that cannot be uttered, and that He (the Father) Who searches the hearts would know what the mind of the Spirit is, for He makes intercession for you according to Father’s perfect will.
- Ask the Lord to pour out His Spirit of grace and supplication on you.
- Invite Him to pray through you and for you about whatever the heart of the Father is in every situation.
- Thank Jesus for telling us that, whatever we ask in His name, He will do it. Ask Him to answer all your prayers today because He said He would.
- Ask the Father to make you a mighty person of prayer, and to help you pray without ceasing.
- Thank the Lord for the fact that the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. Ask the Lord to help you pray fervently and effectively every single day.
- If applicable: Point out to the Lord that you are praying alone with Him, in your room with the door shut. Ask Him to reward you for doing this, as Jesus said He would do.
- Ask the Lord to help you pray with all boldness.
- Pray that He would pour out His mercy and grace on you, to help you in your time of need.
- Thank the Lord for saying in His Word that you will receive whatever you ask; you will find whatever you seek; and you will have doors opened to you when you knock.
- Ask Him to fill your hands and your bosom with good gifts today, for you are asking for them right now.
- Ask Him to help you find everything you seek.
- And pray in Jesus’ name for Him to open doors on your behalf.
- Ask Him to fill you with His good and perfect gifts today, for you are asking Him for good things–and it is His pleasure to give you what you ask for!
- Thank Him for hearing and answering your prayers, and give Him all the praise!
And in the evening, ask the Lord to give you BOLDNESS.

Read these Scriptures to build your faith for boldness:
Proverbs 28:1: “The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are bold as a lion” (Proverbs 28:1 NKJV).
Acts 4:13-14: “Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus. And seeing the man who had been healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it” (Acts 4:13-14 NKJV).
Acts 4:20: “For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard” (Acts 4:20 NKJV).
Acts 4:29-31: ““Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus.” And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness” (Acts 4:29-31 NKJV).
Acts 4:33: “And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all” (Acts 4:33 NKJV).
Jeremiah 1:4-10: “Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.” Then said I: “Ah, Lord God! Behold, I cannot speak, for I am a youth.”
But the Lord said to me: “Do not say, ‘I am a youth,’ for you shall go to all to whom I send you, and whatever I command you, you shall speak. Do not be afraid of their faces, for I am with you to deliver you,” says the Lord.
Then the Lord put forth His hand and touched my mouth, and the Lord said to me: “Behold, I have put My words in your mouth. See, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out and to pull down, to destroy and to throw down, to build and to plant” (Jeremiah 1:4-10 NKJV).
Jeremiah 1:17-19: ““Therefore prepare yourself and arise, and speak to them all that I command you. Do not be dismayed before their faces, lest I dismay you before them.
For behold, I have made you this day a fortified city and an iron pillar, and bronze walls against the whole land—against the kings of Judah, against its princes, against its priests, and against the people of the land. They will fight against you, but they shall not prevail against you. For I am with you,” says the Lord, “to deliver you”” (Jeremiah 1:17-19 NKJV).
Then pray as follows, asking the Lord to fill you with His boldness today:
- Tell the Father that you are coming before Him in Jesus’ name. Thank Him for the privilege we have to approach His throne of grace.
- Praise Him and thank Him for all that He is to you, and for all He is already doing in your life.
- Ask the Lord to baptize you anew and afresh in His Holy Spirit, filling you with His fire, power, and boldness.
- Since His Word says that you are the righteousness of God in Christ, ask Him to make you as bold as a lion.
- Ask the Lord to make it obvious to everyone around you that you have been with Jesus.
- Pray that Jesus’ glory and love would shine out of your face continually, even as you go about your daily activities.
- Pray that people would see Jesus reflected in you so much that they marvel at Him, and at His goodness.
- Ask the Lord to give you boldness to heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, cast out demons, and to give freely as you have received.
- Ask the Lord to help you speak the things which you have seen and heard from Him, according to His perfect will.
- Pray that the Lord would give you the tongue of the learned, and would help you speak as the oracles of God!
- Ask the Lord to grant to you all boldness, that you may speak His Word. Ask Him to stretch out His hand to heal, and that He would do signs and wonders through you, through the name of His Son Jesus.
- Ask the Lord to shake you and every place that you go, just like He shook the room where the apostles prayed. Ask Him to fill you with His Holy Spirit and great power.
- Pray that the Lord would help you and your ministry to give witness to the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
- Pray that great grace would fall upon you and your ministry, and upon all to whom you are ministering and serving.
- Tell the Lord that you submit to His ordination on your life to go into all the world and preach, making disciples of all nations.
- Ask Him to help you go to all to whom He sends you, and to speak what He commands you.
- Ask Him to be with you to deliver you at all times, and that He would help you to not be afraid of people’s faces.
- Ask Him to put His words in your mouth, and to cleanse your lips with His hot coals.
- Pray earnestly for wisdom, understanding, prudence, discretion, discernment, the Spirit of the fear of the Lord, clean hands, and a pure heart, so that you can speak His Word and never pollute the message with heresy of any type.
- Ask the Lord to use you to root out and pull down, to destroy bad things and pull down wickedness, and to build and to plant what is good and righteous, everywhere you go.
- Ask the Lord to help you prepare yourself and arise; to speak all that He commands you; and to not be dismayed before people’s faces.
- Ask Him to help you guard your heart during your ministry, and to guard it Himself as well. Ask Him to make you a fortified city, an iron pillar, and bronze walls, as He did for Jeremiah, to protect his heart against the onslaught of persecution that came with Jeremiah’s ministry.
- Ask the Lord to do for you what He did for Jeremiah, in that even if people fight against you, they would not prevail against you.
- Ask the Lord to be with you to deliver you, and to make His manifest presence known to you at all times.
Beloved, do you want to walk in boldness, as the apostles did in the early church?
If so, you have to pray for that boldness–and stay on your face in prayer every day. But, if you will cling tightly to Jesus in this way, God will give you the boldness you need … and He will use you and your ministry to shake the earth for His glory!
