Do you need God to break through with instant breakthrough? Have you been sowing and sowing with tears, waiting on God to come through for you? If so, I want to share a word of encouragement with you today.

On the day and in the moment I’m writing this, the Lord just did something for me. And I’ll be honest: He shocked me. I’m stunned speechless.

The Lord just blessed me by remembering me in something I’ve been praying about–an area in which I felt very forgotten.

Of course, I knew in my head that I wasn’t forgotten. But, at the gut-level, I felt forgotten because His answer to this particular prayer was taking so long. So it’s been a battle to stay firm in the faith in my spirit, despite my soul wanting to take my eyes off Jesus and look at negative circumstances.

(It’s a good thing that faith is a choice, not a feeling, isn’t it? Because we don’t always feel like believing … but we have to hang on and believe God anyway.)

So back to the story. In one moment, the Lord just broke through and blessed me by bringing His answer to this one prayer into visible manifestation. I was just praying and working, and BOOM! He broke through with His answer.

It wasn’t even at someone else’s hands. It wasn’t like someone else obeyed God and suddenly my breakthrough came. It wasn’t like my breakthrough came in the form of someone sending a big ministry donation or my receiving some big, wonderful news. It wasn’t anything like that.

It was just something I had been praying about–something significant to me. And, by His Spirit of revelation and wisdom, the Lord gave me a moment of wisdom and instruction. And through His wisdom, breakthrough happened in one moment.

    And I was stunned.

    I’m still stunned.

I am sitting here writing this because I felt led, but I’m too stunned and shocked to speak.

And I was reminded of this Scripture passage that I believe is relevant for all of us today:

“When the Lord brought back the captivity of Zion, we were like those who dream. Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing.

Then they said among the nations, ‘The Lord has done great things for them.’

The Lord has done great things for us, and we are glad.

Bring back our captivity, O Lord, as the streams in the South.

Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy. He who continually goes forth weeping, bearing seed for sowing, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him” (Psalm 126:1-6 NKJV).

Because, you see, the Lord suddenly answered a prayer of mine that He had taken a long time to answer. I didn’t understand why He was taking so long, and I definitely felt like I was in captivity while I was waiting.

But “when the Lord brought back the captivity of Zion, we were like those who dream.”

Beloved, there are moments in this life when God will utterly shock you.

He’ll move so quickly, and so completely, that you’ll be stunned. You will sit in your chair in stunned silence, totally tongue-tied, having no words to describe the holy moment you just encountered, in which GOD DID IT.

And in that moment, all you can say is “Thank You, God.”

Oh, together with, “Please forgive me for ever doubting You, and for getting discouraged while I waited on You.”

But mostly, you just sit there in shock, too stunned at how God broke through to even speak.

And then you remember these verses from Psalm 126:5-6:

Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy. He who continually goes forth weeping, bearing seed for sowing, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him” (Psalm 126:5-6 NKJV).

And you remember all the times you have sown in tears:

    • You remember how you sowed when you didn’t want to, just because God said.
    • You remember how you sowed when you couldn’t afford it, because God said.
    • You remember how you have sown and sown and sown and SOWN with too many tears to count, wondering when and if God would ever break through in your situation.

And you suddenly realize, in this moment of shocked and stunned silence, that right now you are reaping in joy.

Right now, God just broke through. Right now, you are sitting in your answer to prayer. Right now.

And you realize that, in this day–this moment, even–everything changes, because the Lord just brought back your captivity.

And you feel like those who dream.

Friend, God does take His sweet time to send us the manifest answer to our prayers sometimes.

He does. No doubt about it. But Jesus taught us this in Luke 18:

“Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart, saying:

“There was in a certain city a judge who did not fear God nor regard man. Now there was a widow in that city; and she came to him, saying, ‘Get justice for me from my adversary.’ And he would not for a while; but afterward he said within himself, ‘Though I do not fear God nor regard man, yet because this widow troubles me I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.’ ”

Then the Lord said, “Hear what the unjust judge said. And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?” (Luke 18:1-8 NKJV).

Harness the Power of Fasting and Prayer

Are you experiencing spiritual warfare? Strike back with the atomic spiritual weapon of fasting!

In this ebook, Jamie teaches practical tips for how to fast successfully and actually enjoy it. This book is full of miracle promises, prayer tips, eating tips, advice about FREEDOM FROM LEGALISM, and so much more.

Beloved, even though God bears long with us sometimes while we pray, at the right moment He will always break through.

Jesus’ question, however, was this: “Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?” By that question, He was asking if we would still hold out and pray, believing God for Him to answer us, help us, and avenge us, even though He bears long with us sometimes.

It can be hard to wait on the Lord. However, beloved, we have to stand firm in faith if we’re going to receive anything from the Lord. Remember James 1:

“My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways” (James 1:2-8 NKJV).

If we doubt, we won’t receive anything from the Lord.

It is only our FAITH in God that gets us the answers we require and request from Him.

    So I ask you today:

Will you stand firm in faith until God breaks through and brings back your captivity?

Will you stand firm in faith, even if you don’t feel like it?

Will you stand firm in faith, even if your answers take a long time?

Will you stand firm and believe that God’s Word is true, even when you feel desperate and lonely and forgotten by Him and others?

Will you hold on anyway, strengthening the hands which hang down and making firm the feeble knees, that what is lame may not be dislocated, but may rather be healed? (See Hebrews 12:12-13.)

I pray you will. I pray I will. I pray we all will. It isn’t easy, but it’s worth it when the Lord brings back the captivity of Zion. And in that moment, we become like those who dream.

    Hang on in faith, friend.

Your breakthrough is coming. Your answers are on their way. God’s Word is true, and God will never fail you. Today is not the day when He is going to get off His throne and cease being God, just to let you down.

Those who sow in tears SHALL reap in joy. He who continually goes forth weeping, bearing seed for sowing, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.

    2. Amen, Jamie, so glad you got your joy tank filled up. God is good!
While reading this, I was actually skimming over most of the verses, they are very familiar ones. So what my eyes saw as I skimmed was ” lacks wisdom… ask… in faith” and my spirit took that and said, “God, please give me liberal wisdom about faith!”
I could really use an infusion of all 3- wisdom, faith, joy; a lot of things have piled up suddenly this month. Thank You so much Jamie, for all you pour out to us!
