Day 17: We Shall Reap If We Do Not Lose Heart

Welcome to Day 17 of 21 Days to Strengthen Your Faith! Today, we are receiving the Lord’s encouragement not to grow weary in doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart!

As a reminder:

In this series, we will examine one short Scripture passage each day.

Then, we will pray through it with a brief series of bullet-point prayers. Each day, our goal is to strengthen our faith by gaining greater revelation about the importance of faith in our lives, and how faith WORKS.

As you strengthen your faith each day, your confidence in God will grow–and you will also begin feeling more brave and willing to go on the great adventures God has for you!

Today’s key Scripture verse is Galatians 6:9:

“And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart” (Galatians 6:9 NKJV).

It can be so wearying sometimes when we keep on and on doing good works … without seeing the results we’re wishing for. But you know what? We have the Father’s promise that He will reward you if you will just continue. He will reward you if you will persevere. And if you will refrain from growing weary while doing good, in due season YOU SHALL REAP …

… but only if you do not lose heart.

Yes: We shall reap if we do not lose heart.

That “do not lose heart” thing is the miracle we need from God every day.

But He is here for you. He is here to help you. Every day–even today–He will help you keep on doing good. He will help you:

• serve people;
• love others;
• give generously;
• be faithful in the small things;
• pray in faith, even when His answers haven’t shown up yet;
• encourage the downcast;
• speak life into the brokenhearted;
• share your witness for Christ; and
• spread the love, comfort, peace, and joy of Jesus everywhere you go.

He will help you do these things. He will help you to not grow weary while doing good. Even when you have to wait on Him, He will strengthen your heart:

“I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; wait, I say, on the Lord!” (Psalm 27:13-14 NKJV).

And beloved, if you do not lose heart, YOU WILL REAP.

Yes, you have to sow and sow and sow and SOW. There’s seed, TIME, and then harvest. (That “time” part is the part that gets most difficult.) The harvest only comes after time has passed.

But, my friend, the Lord Himself has promised us that we will reap if we do not lose heart. And that is a promise you can take to the bank. He is not a man, that He should lie. His Word is always true; it will never fail.

So even when things look difficult today …

Even when your bank account balance is low, your strength is depleted, and you feel overwhelmed with the responsibilities weighing you down …

His strength is perfect in you, for His grace is sufficient. His strength is made perfect in your weakness.

“And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart” (Galatians 6:9 NKJV).

You have God’s promise, and He IS faithful–so He is going to be faithful to you. Don’t be weary in well doing, for in due season you shall reap if you do not lose heart.

Let’s pray as follows to strengthen our faith in this hour:

• Tell the Father that you come before Him in Jesus’ name.
• Thank Him that He is mindful that we are but dust.
• Thank Him for being merciful to us, as we are merciful to others.
• Praise Him for being the Rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
• Tell the Father that you need His help to not be weary in well doing today.
• Thank Him for all the good things He has helped you do, but confess your utter inadequacy to do any of these things without Him.
• Thank Him for His grace flowing through you to get things done.
• Ask Him to give you strength, grace, patience, and perseverance to continue doing the good things He has called you to do on earth.
• Thank Him for the privilege of being His hands and feet on the earth.
• Ask Him to help you be patient for His timing in your life.
• Pray that He would speed up every breakthrough that it is His will to speed up. But, if it is His will for you to wait on certain things, let Him know that you trust Him and His timing for those things too.
• For all the things that it is His due season, ask Him to help you reap.
• Pray that rewards and blessings would be heaped up on your head this very day.
• Ask Him to reward you in accordance with all the tears you have sown.
• Pray that you would not lose heart. Ask Him to strengthen your heart for His process, which is where breakthrough comes (in the process).
• Ask the Father to help you keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.
• Thank Him for bringing you your harvest, and give Him all the praise!

Dear friend, do not grow weary in doing good.

Whatever the good works are that God has called you to do, hang in there! Hang in there! Hang in there! Keep on keeping on, and our Father will be faithful to reward you and bring you your harvest.
