We have also recorded a short video devotional to go with each day’s Scripture verse. Please be sure to watch these videos for extra encouragement and inspiration in your faith journey!

    Today’s Scripture is Galatians 3:13-14:

“Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, ‘Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree’), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith” (Galatians 3:13-14 NKJV).

We’ve already talked about the blessing of Abraham and how important that is here and here. But now, let’s talk about this mighty truth:

When you made Jesus your Lord and Savior, God sent His Holy Spirit to live inside you at that moment–through faith.

You didn’t earn the presence of God’s Holy Spirit. No earthly work could ever qualify you to receive God Himself living inside of you. We could never be good enough to earn His companionship or His love, let alone His Spirit and power resting, dwelling, and permanently remaining within us.

Yet, through your FAITH in Jesus, God CHOSE to send His Holy Spirit to live within you. Read more about that here, in my article entitled How Do You Get the Holy Spirit? And if you don’t know Holy Spirit as your personal Friend and Counselor, I highly encourage you to get my book/ebook below, Getting to Know the Sevenfold Holy Spirit!

Get the book and focus on communion with God’s Holy Spirit for 12 days! Remember that He is your Helper, Comforter, and Advocate. You can’t truly know God without knowing His Holy Spirit!

So Holy Spirit dwells within you. What a huge privilege! But it gets even deeper when you realize this:

Not only did God send His Holy Spirit to live inside you because of your faith in Jesus, but He sent Him with ALL He is and ALL He can do.

And all those things are within you right now, for He has no limitations–even when He dwells within you.

In John 3:34, John the Baptist taught us this (and these words were inspired by Holy Spirit since Holy Spirit later breathed them out to become part of the Scriptures through His scribes):

“For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God does not give the Spirit by measure” (John 3:34 NKJV).

John the Baptist was talking about Jesus in particular, but this principle applies to all of us:

God does not give the Spirit by measure.

And if you think about it, He cannot give His Spirit by measure, for that would mean He had only given a portion of His Spirit–and yet He cannot portion Himself off. He is who He is, and He doesn’t cut part of Himself off–ever.

This is why God does not and cannot give His Holy Spirit by measure. He is all-powerful. He is eternal, and He is omnipresent (present everywhere at once). He cannot divest Himself of part of His nature for any purpose, let alone to limit His power in you. As it says in the book of 2 Timothy:

    This is a faithful saying:

For if we died with Him, we shall also live with Him.
If we endure, we shall also reign with Him.
If we deny Him, He also will deny us.
    If we are faithless, He remains faithful;
    He cannot deny Himself
    ” (2 Timothy 2:11-13 NKJV).

So God the Holy Spirit is in you by faith. Everything He is is in you by faith, and everything He can do is in you by that same faith.

It’s all by your faith in Jesus Christ, who loves you and gave Himself for you.

Furthermore, God does not take away His gifts or His presence from you.

After you give your life to Jesus, Holy Spirit gives you gifts. These gifts are often called “spiritual gifts,” (get my free spiritual gifts inventory here), and they are special supernatural abilities to do specific things.

    WALK IN YOUR SUPERNATURAL IDENTITY

9 Power Gifts of the Spirit EBOOK!

Do you want to walk on earth as Jesus did, manifesting miracles and living in the supernatural? If so, then this ebook is for you!

And you know what the good news is? When God anoints you to do a thing, like giving you the gift of speaking in tongues, He doesn’t take that away. He doesn’t remove your spiritual gift of prophecy or miracles or any other gift. And, He does not remove His presence from you.

Some people may think that He does. I have often heard people say, “God used to help me speak in tongues, but He took that gift away and now I can’t do it anymore.” NO: God does not take His gifts away. Romans 11:29 says this:

“For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable” (Romans 11:29 NKJV).

So you may have gotten down into sin or unforgiveness, hindering the flow of God’s anointing on your life. You may have picked up an offense somewhere, which DEFINITELY blocks the anointing. (God’s anointing makes hard things easy.) And you may have allowed yourself to become too busy to listen effectively to God’s Spirit, so it may feel like He is not with you.

BUT, God has promised that He will NEVER leave you nor forsake you.

Look at all these encouraging Scripture passages in which He PROMISES that He will never leave you nor forsake you:

‘…and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.Amen” (Matthew 28:20b NKJV).

“Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you” (Deuteronomy 31:6 NKJV).

“I have been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread” (Psalm 37:25 NKJV).

“For the Lord will not cast off His people, nor will He forsake His inheritance” (Psalm 94:14 NKJV).

“…for He [God]Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!]” (Hebrews 13:5b AMPC).

“The poor and needy seek water, but there is none, their tongues fail for thirst. I, the Lord, will hear them; I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them” (Isaiah 41:17).

God will never leave you nor forsake you. He is with you–because of your FAITH in Jesus Christ.

God gives you His Holy Spirit through faith.

His presence and anointing are manifest in your life because of your faith. That is good news today, friend, because it means you didn’t earn it and don’t have to earn it. All you have to do is believe in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved–and filled with His Spirit, presence, power, gifts, and anointings.

    Hallelujah!

So are you ready to pray? Pray briefly with me as follows:

    • Tell the Father that you come to Him in Jesus’ name.
    • Thank the Father for giving you His Holy Spirit through faith.
    • Thank Him for living inside of you by His Spirit, and through your faith in Jesus.
    • Thank Him that He is with you, and you cannot earn His marvelous presence. It’s all by your faith in Jesus!
    • Thank Him that He will never leave you nor forsake you.
    • Thank Him that His Holy Spirit has given you spiritual gifts, anointings, and a calling in Him.
    • Praise Him for being so good and kind to you! Thank Him that it’s all because of your faith in Jesus–a faith which HE placed inside of you anyway!
    • Thank Him that His gifts and callings are irrevocable. He will never take His gifts or calling away from you!
    • Ask Him to help you remember that He is always with you.
    • Ask Him to help you become more and more aware of His Spirit within you every day.
    • Ask Him to help you become more sensitive to the leading of His Spirit every day.
    • Pray that He would give you the sense of honor and respect for His Spirit that He desires you to have, so that you may guard and protect your relationship with Holy Spirit and never grieve Him.
    • Give Him all the praise for dwelling within you by your faith in Christ Jesus!

Beloved, if you have given your life to Jesus Christ, you have received the promise of God’s Holy Spirit by faith.

Will you commune with Him today? Will you walk and talk with Him? Will you depend on Him for everything? I hope you will, for He is eagerly waiting for you to do just that!
