Pray: “Lord, Please Make a Way!”

Do you need the Lord to make a way for you right now? Do you need a road in the wilderness and streams in the desert? Do you need doors to open where there were none before, and for things to work when everything you see is telling you that they will fail?

If so, then pray this prayer with me today and ask the Lord to make a way for you RIGHT NOW!

First, however, I want to encourage you and build your faith for the Lord to make a way for you.

The Bible is full of Scriptures where God has promised to make a way for you. For example, look at these beautiful verses:

“Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert” (Isaiah 43:19 NKJV).

And:

“And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full” (John 16:23-24 NKJV).

And:

“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success” (Joshua 1:8 NKJV).

And:

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9 NKJV).

Beloved, our God is now and forever a Maker of Ways and an Opener of Roads.

He is WayMaker, and Road Builder, and the great Clearer of Obstacles. There is nothing too big or too strong for Him to move for you, and He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

For one example, God split the Red Sea for His redeemed–the Israelites whom He redeemed out of Egyptian bondage–to pass over. And pass over they did: between 2 million and 3 million people crossed between the walls of water on dry land. In so doing, they saw the Lord deliver them from hundreds of years of slavery.

Another example:

When Joshua was fighting the Amorites in Joshua 10, he needed more daylight to be able to keep fighting and defeat them. So, after speaking to the Lord, he commanded the sun and moon to stand still–and they did, for about a whole day. And Joshua defeated his enemies. The Bible says about that occasion:

“And there has been no day like that, before it or after it, that the Lord heeded the voice of a man; for the Lord fought for Israel” (Joshua 10:14 NKJV).

Wow! God actually stopped the sun and moon in their tracks just for one guy? Yes, He did! That is some pretty big waymaking right there. He halted the natural process of our entire solar system just to make a way for Joshua to defeat his enemies.

And a third example:

When God sent the Israelites up to fight against Jericho–the first city in the Promised Land that they needed to conquer–He gave them a unique battle plan:

• March around the city once daily for six days.
• On the seventh day, march around the city seven times.
• Then, have the priests blow their trumpets, and let the people shout when they hear the trumpet blast.
• The walls will fall down flat and the men of Israel can take the city!

Wow, that’s not a military strategy that anyone would have probably come up with in the strength of human flesh.

Nevertheless, it didn’t need to be. This plan came from the WayMaker Himself. Precisely zero humans needed to come up with a plan of their own. God Himself came up with the plan, and there was nothing in it that spoke of fleshly wisdom.

The entire plan was supernatural from beginning to end–and God kept His promise. When the supernatural plan was carried out, sure enough: the walls of the city fell down flat, and the Israelites took the city. God Himself brought the victory that day, and He made a way where once there was no way.

The list of examples above is certainly not all-inclusive.

Time would fail us to tell of the many, many miraculous ways forward, ways out, and ways of every kind that God created in the Bible seemingly out of nothing. For example:

• The prophet in 2 Kings 6 lost a borrowed ax head in the water, but God made it float back to the surface so it could be reclaimed and returned to its owner.
• The widow’s sons in 2 Kings 4 were going to be sold into slavery, but she followed Elisha’s advice and God multiplied her oil so much that she was able to pay her debts.
• In John chapter 2, the hosts of the wedding at Cana ran out of wine and were going to be publicly humiliated for it. But Mary put a demand in faith on Jesus, and Jesus answered her faith by turning water into wine for them.

This list could go on and on. Throughout the pages of Scripture, from creating the universe using nothing more than the spoken word in Genesis to returning to carry His blood-bought children home to Heaven in the book of Revelation, Jesus Christ has shown Himself to be God Who Makes a Way.

And that, my friend, is GOOD NEWS.

Friend, God is WayMaker … and He is ready, willing, and eager to make a way for YOU right now.

Do you want this? Are you willing to believe? Are you willing to look at Him and live, receiving life, hope, strength, and help where none existed before?

If you will look to Him and believe, asking Him to make a way for you and believing that you have whatever you ask in His name …

… as it says in John 14:14:

“If you ask anything in My name, I will do it” (John 14:14 NKJV).

And in Mark 11:

“So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. 

Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them” (Mark 11:22-24 NKJV).

And in John 14:6:

“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me'” (John 14:6 NKJV).

And even in Matthew 7:7-8:

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened” (Matthew 7:7-8 NKJV).

… then, beloved, your chances are 100% for God to make a way for you, even where there seems to be no way.

Are you ready to pray and ask God to make a way?

If so, pray this with me:

“Dear Heavenly Father, I come to You in Jesus’ name.

Abba Father, I confess that I do not know what to pray for as I ought, or how to offer it worthily as I ought.

But, according to Romans 8:26-27, I ask today in Jesus’ name that Your Holy Spirit would pray through me and for me with moanings and groanings which cannot be uttered. And I pray that You Who search the hearts would know what the will of the Spirit is, for He makes intercession for me according to Your will.

Pour out Your Spirit of grace and supplication on me, Father, and teach me how to pray right now, in Jesus’ name. And I thank You for it, Abba Father.

Lord God of Heaven, Your Word says that You are God Who makes a way:

• You made a way for the Israelites to cross over the Red Sea on dry ground.
• You did it again at the Jordan River, removing the river and piling it up upon itself so that, once again, Your people could cross into the Promised Land in safety, and on dry ground.
• You have also made a way for me, personally, so many times in the past.
• You even made a way for my sins to be forgiven, and for me to receive new life in Christ, by sending Your only Son to die for me.

Thank You, Abba Father. Thank You for being a Waymaker.

But I’m calling on You once again today, Abba Father, and begging You in Jesus’ name to make a way for me yet again.

I feel like I’m dealing with the impossible, Lord; but the impossible is Your specialty. Nothing is impossible with You. And Your Word says that, if I call upon You, You will answer me, and show me great and mighty things that I do not know.

And therefore, O Lord God, I ask today in Jesus’ name:

Please, make a way for me where there seems to be no way!

• Open the floodgates of Heaven and pour out on me so much blessing that there’s not even room enough to receive it; that Your blessing fills me up and sloshes over to everyone else all around me, too!
• Open doors for me that only You can open, and shut doors that only You can shut!
• Send an angel with a flaming sword to stand in front of me and turn me back if I’m even tempted to go down any path that is not Your highest and best and most perfect will for my life!
• Give me opportunities that I can’t even dream of at this moment.
• Please give me favor everywhere I go!
• Line up situations and circumstances so that every blessing that looks impossible now becomes a finished, manifested fact, in Jesus’ name!
• Please change situations and circumstances however You need to in order to work them out for my good, and for the good of everyone around me as well!

Abba Father, I ask genuinely, in Jesus’ name, and with genuine faith, that You would make a way for me where there seems to be no way.

Nothing is impossible with You, and I know that You desire to give me every good thing. You are the Giver of good and perfect gifts, and You are my good, good Father. And Jesus told us that we should not fear, for it is the Father’s good pleasure to give us the Kingdom.

Therefore, Father, please open the doors of the impossible today and give me the Kingdom in every way.

Let everything in my life be done today on earth as it is in Heaven. Open the doors to the boundless, the outrageous, and the seemingly impossible–and bring these things to pass, I pray, in Jesus’ name.

Thank You, Abba Father. And it is in Jesus’ precious and mighty name I pray, amen and amen.”

Beloved, do you need Jesus to make a way for you today where there seems to be no way?

Do you believe the Word of God that says:

“For with God nothing will be impossible” (Luke 1:37 NKJV).

And also Luke 12:32, which says:

“Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom” (Luke 12:32 NKJV).

If you believe it and prayed the prayer of faith above–and you prayed it IN faith–then you have already received the things for which you asked the Lord. It may take awhile to unfold, but God HAS heard and answered your prayer.

Believe it today, and say “Amen!” to the Lord, for all of His promises are ‘yes’ and ‘amen’; His Word can be depended upon; and your calling and election are sure!
