Prayer for Pain Relief When Your Heart Is Hurting

Friend, are you sad, lonely, discouraged, or upset today? If so, this powerful prayer for pain relief when your heart is hurting is going to help you cast your cares upon the Lord so that He can heal your heart and fix your situation.

The Bible says in Psalm 55:22: 

“Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.”

Whenever you are going through pain or trials of any kind, Jesus is always eager to listen to your woes and help you.

He understands your pain like no one else could ever possibly understand your pain. He has endured it all. But you know what? Since He has literally endured it all, He is able and qualified to take your pain away. He is your Great High Priest, and the only One who can help you.

As it says in Hebrews 4:14-16:

“Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.

Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

Beloved friend, if you need your High Priest to take your pain away today, pray this prayer for pain relief–and pray it BOLDLY before the throne of grace.

As you pray, you will receive MERCY and grace to help in time of need. Jesus Christ Himself will help you, and our Heavenly Father and His precious Holy Spirit will move on your behalf.

Pray this prayer for pain relief when your heart is hurting today:

“Dear Heavenly Father, I come to You in Jesus’ name.

Dear Father God, I love You so much. Thank You for helping me every time in my life when I have needed help.

Thank You that You are always here with me and for me. Thank You for seeing me. Thank You that You see all, know all, and care about me in every way. Thank You for caring about everything that concerns me.

I praise You for Your faithfulness, goodness, and mercy toward me today and every day. You are the One who puts breath in my lungs and wakes me up every morning to live another day, Father–and I praise You and thank You for that. Thank You for loving me and saving me, and thank You for taking care of me as only You can.

Abba Father, You know I am in in pain right now. My heart hurts so badly.

I feel grieved and sad, Father. My heart hurts and it has been hurting for a long time. The situation that is bringing me pain has just gone on and on and on with very little reprieve.

I thank You for what You have done in this situation already, Father, but the pain is so bad that I come to You today and ask for total resolution of this situation and all the pain associated with it.

Father God, I am praying this prayer for pain relief right now because I know this situation is not of You.

Your Word says that Your Kingdom should be manifest in my life. Your Kingdom is not meat and drink, Father; but it is righteousness, peace, and JOY in Your Holy Spirit. And Your Kingdom is not in word, Father, but in POWER. That means my life and every situation pertaining to me should be properly aligned with You and should be manifesting righteousness, peace, JOY, and power.

Father, You alone see the situation that is breaking my heart right now.

No one else really understands, Abba Father, but You do. You see that this is wrong; that it is askew and awry; that the pieces are not lining up the way they should. And You alone see how greatly this hurts me.

Abba, You alone see me weeping on my bed; You see me trying every solution to this situation, but finding none. You alone know what I should do, and You alone can help me.

Holy Father, You and You alone can heal this situation.

So I ask right now in Jesus’ name that You would heal my pain. I ask that You would fix this situation that is causing me so much pain. I ask also that You would step in and divinely and supernaturally intervene and heal the heart of every person involved, so that we can all see clearly and know what You are calling us to do–and that we would obey, no matter what.

Father God, in Jesus’ name, I pray this prayer for pain relief because my heart is hurting so badly–but I believe You will work these things out for my good. Your Word says that ALL things work together for my good, for I love You and am called according to Your purpose. Thank You for that, Abba Father. 

Father, I ask also that You would show me signs of land. Show me a sign for good today.

Please help me see and hear and receive good news TODAY regarding my situation. Your Word says in Isaiah 41:27, “… And I will give to Jerusalem one who brings good tidings …” and You are no respecter of persons. If you are willing to send good news and a bearer of good tidings to Jerusalem, You are willing to send good news, good tidings, and Jesus (the Bearer of the best tidings) to me. 

So Father God, in Jesus’ name, I ask humbly that You would bring me good tidings today:

• Show me that the tide is turning.
• Show me what You are doing behind the scenes.
• I call upon You right now, Lord, and I ask that You would answer me and show me GREAT and MIGHTY things which I do not know.

Thank You, Lord Jesus. Thank You, Abba Father; and thank You, Holy Spirit. Thank You in advance for my good news.

Abba Father, Your Word also says that You will hold my hand.

Isaiah 42:6 says, “I, the Lord, have called You in righteousness, and will hold Your hand ….” And Father, while I know that You originally wrote this about Your Son Jesus, I am hidden in Him. And that means:

• What You did for Him, You will do for me.
• Also, Jesus lived on the earth as Spirit-filled man, and so what You did for Jesus the Man, You will do for me.
• Furthermore, if You are holding Jesus’ hand, then Jesus is holding Your hand too–and that means You and I are already holding hands, because I am in Christ.

So Father, I ask You to physically hold my hand today.

I need to feel You with me. I need to feel You touching me and holding onto me. I need to feel Your embrace, Daddy my Father; and I need to feel Your presence and affection. I can’t get through this alone, but I know that I don’t have to. You are with me.

So Father, please help me sense Your presence and affection in every way today:

• Physically hold my hand, and help me to feel You doing so.
• Keep me as the apple of Your eye and hide me under the shadow of Your wings.
• Let those who lie in wait for me be put to shame; let them run and flee from Your presence while You defend me.
• The enemy has come in like a flood, but I pray that the Your Spirit, the Spirit of the Lord, would raise up a standard against him.
• Be to me today my Glory, and the Lifter of my head. 
• Help me to dwell with You in the secret place of the Most High, and please keep me STABLE and FIXED under Your shadow–under the brooding and covering of Your Holy Spirit.

Restore me to my place of authority today, Father. Heal my heart and my pain.

Take away this pain, I ask, in Jesus’ name:

• Completely and utterly heal these situations that have caused me so much pain.
• Stop and arrest the people involved who have caused me this pain.
• Convict them and change their hearts.
• Help us to live and dwell in community with one another, the way You have desired and commanded us to. 

Father, You and only You can get me through this.

So I ask today, in Jesus’ name:

• That You would open rivers in desolate heights for me.
• I am in the midst of a valley, but open fountains up for me here.
• I feel like I’m in a wilderness, but fill this wilderness with pools of water and make it a place where I can be well-watered.
• Turn everything that is dry into springs of water for me, Abba, in accordance with Your Word and Your promise in Isaiah 41:18.

Thank You, Abba Father.

Father, thank You for listening to my prayer. Thank You for heeding my prayer for pain relief today, when my heart and soul are hurting so badly. 

You and You alone can fix this, Father–and I believe that You will. I know You have heard my prayer, and I know that I have the petitions I have desired of You; for I have asked these things in agreement with Your will and Your Word.

Please let Jesus be glorified in my life, Father. Let the Son of Man be lifted up and exalted in every part of my life, even through and in my pain. Glorify Your own name, Father, and work all things out for my good–for I love You and am called according to Your purpose.

Thank You, dear Heavenly Father. Thank You for moving and working miraculously on my behalf.

It’s going to take a miracle, but it’s all in Your hands now. You are the Miracle Worker, and I believe You are working miracles for me right now. And as I have come unto You, Jesus–for I have been weary and heavy-laden–I thank You for giving me rest.

Thank You for allowing me to cast my cares upon You, and I know that You will sustain me. You will not allow the righteous to be moved. 

Thank You, Abba Father. Thank You, dear Jesus, my Lord and Savior. And thank You, precious Holy Spirit.

It’s in Jesus’ mighty name I pray. Amen and amen.”
