Beloved, do you need God to turn your season? Have you been learning lessons in the old season, but now you have sudden clarity–and you believe you have learned some things you never understood before about how God was working in the most recent season of your life?

If so, pray this prayer for a new season with me today, and believe God to bring you into a new season!

Holy Spirit put this prayer on my heart recently after showing me some things about my own most recent season.

In my personal most recent season, it has been a season of hardship—but also of great peace. And, although I didn’t always see it at the time, the Lord has been teaching me lessons about:

• Trusting Him when things don’t make sense;
• Ceasing worrying (since I’ve unfortunately been a big worrier, but praise God I am believing that He has broken that off me, in Jesus’ name);
• Believing that He is with me, even when my feelings try telling me something different; and
• Resting in Him and trusting that He’s got everything about my life under control, even on days when I don’t see any progress or didn’t see any big miracles happen that day.

These lessons have been hard to learn.

And they were made even harder because I genuinely felt, at the beginning of this season, that God had already taught me these things. I didn’t understand why He wasn’t letting me out of the season when I already “knew” the things about which He was talking to me.

But, He is so good and kind—even when we don’t understand that He is treating us with kindness.

Looking back, I can see that what He did is that He turned up the pressure. He turned up the flame in His Holy Spirit’s oven, and He started baking me hotter than He ever had before.

Although I didn’t enjoy it, that hotter temperature of testing worked in me a greater ability to practice what He had been teaching me more than ever before. He made me not only learn it, but practice it over and over again, until I had total peace even in the midst of storms, frustration, and not understanding.

And that, friend, is worth it to me.

If that’s what it takes to please God and walk in victory, then you can sign me up every day of the week—even when the Lord has to drag me kicking and screaming at times into the fire if I don’t go willingly.

Can you identify?

I know it’s hard to walk through a season in which you don’t understand why you are still being tested. It’s hard when answers to prayer seem to come quickly about some things, but nothing seems to appear on the horizon at all regarding other things.

And it’s frustrating when you believe that you have victory in Christ Jesus, but you don’t feel like the belief is having any impact that actually helps you (or God) solve your problems.

Nevertheless, our God is good and patient.

He is our Shepherd, and He leads us through those still waters and in those green pastures. Nothing much might appear to be happening, but He is always moving us forward and transforming us from grace to grace, faith to faith, and strength to strength.

And friend, I believe that, when you start to look backward in time and see the rhyme and the reason for all that He has been doing, you are very near (or already at) your season of breakthrough.

So, what about you? Where are you in this process? Is Holy Spirit confirming something to you right this very minute?

Has the Lord been showing you some things and drawing your old season to a close?

Are you ready to move right on into a new season, now that you can see how mightily He has worked in your heart during the old season?

If so, pray this prayer for a new season with me:

“Dear Heavenly Father, I come before You in Jesus’ name.

Abba Father, I want to thank You for the last season I have been in. It has been hard, but You have given me so much peace. And I didn’t always understand the purpose, but I see now that you were cutting things away from me that were not pleasing to You—and that you are really working this out for my good.

Thank You for that, Father. I praise You, for You are good, and Your mercy endures forever. Thank You for being so merciful and patient with me in the last season, even though I know I didn’t always cooperate with You as I should have—even though I tried, but I just didn’t understand.

Father, I humbly ask first for Your forgiveness for not trusting You like I should have in the last season.

I worried so much, and I was wrong to worry. You have taken care of everything, and not one thing that I thought was terrible has actually worked out badly. You have worked every single thing out for my good, and I bless You and praise You for that.

In the name of Jesus, I ask that You would please forgive me for worrying, for doubting, and for not trusting You as I should have. Wash me clean; cover me with the blood of Jesus; and fill me with Your Holy Spirit where all those things were. Thank You, Abba Father. Thank You.

And Father, in Jesus’ name, I now boldly come before Your throne of grace with a request.

Abba, if I have passed the test and learned what I needed to learn, would You please move me into a new season now? Specifically:

• Would You move me into a season of great grace and peace?
• Would You move me into a season of Your divine help moving faster on my behalf than I have ever seen it before?
• Would You take me forward into a season of great favor, and a season in which You answer my prayers more rapidly than I could ever have dreamed?
• Would You take me forward into a season of great harvest, in which the plowman will overtake the reaper, and the reaper the plowman?
• Would You manifest Yourself to me more than ever before, both in the secret place alone with You, and in public?
• Would You help me to hear You better and more clearly than I have ever heard You and distinguished Your voice from all others before?
• Would You move me into a season of great financial prosperity, where all my debts, bills, and expenses are paid in full—and in which money comes to me from Your storehouses in the north, south, east, and west?
• Would You help me to walk in levels of motivation, inspiration, divinely inspired creativity, power, purpose, and organization that I have never even seen before?
• Would You make the hard things easy for me, all of a sudden, in this season?
• Would You make things that used to be difficult to suddenly work and flow, when they did not flow before?
• Would You deepen my relationships that are from You, and deliver me from any relationships that are not from You—and help me to know the difference between the two?
• Would You move things along for me so fast that miracles happen to me daily?
• Would You quicken my awareness of what You are doing, and help me to be more thankful than I have ever been?
• Would You give me wisdom, and instruct me and teach me in the way I should go in this new season?
• Will You please fill me with more of Your manifest power, Spirit, presence, and glory than I have ever experienced or carried before?
• Would You help me to hunger and thirst for You more than I have ever hungered and thirsted before?
• Would You take me from glory to glory, faith to faith, and strength to strength?
• Would You help me to do all this while still resting in You, please—and would You please give me more healing rest and sanctuary in this new season than I have ever experienced before?

Thank You, Lord God.

Abba Father, I thank You that You are with me on this road that I have not been down before.

You will never leave me nor forsake me; You never have and never will. All that I have is Yours, and all my dreams and hopes come only from You.

You are the Source of all righteous dreams and hopes, and I thank You for that. Thank You for being so faithful to me, and thank You that Your mercies are new every day.

You have been so good to me in this last season, Abba Father–and I thank You for that.

I thank You for teaching me things about patience and perseverance and trusting You that I never would have learned any other way, unless You had squeezed me.

And I thank You for stretching me in ways I would never have grown, learning to truly walk in a peace that passes understanding—and I never would have learned those things unless You had exercised me and my faith, causing me to lean into You in ways I would not have done unless I had been tested and pushed and squeezed. Thank You, Abba Father.

But Abba Father, I feel like You have shown me that the old season is done.

And so I am humbly coming into agreement with Your will, with the will of Your Holy Spirit, and with the will of Your Holy Son Jesus, about this new season. And as the Psalmist wrote, “Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me and know my anxieties; and see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting” (Psalm 139:23-24 NKJV).

And if there is any reason that I cannot move forward into a new season yet, then show me what it is and purge my heart quickly, so that I CAN move forward. And if I have truly passed the test and have been found faithful, diligent, and humble to learn all You have been teaching me in this season, then please move me forward.

And finally, Father, I ask You for a sign and a wonder in response to my prayer.

Speak to me in a way that only You and I know, and confirm for me Your response to my petition.

Thank You, Abba Father. Thank You that Your mercies are new every day, and thank You for this new season that You are giving me.

In Jesus’ holy and precious name I pray, amen and amen.”

Friend, are you believing God for a new season today?

Can you sense that you have learned the lessons He has been teaching you? Can you see the growth in your own heart? Can you even see His purposes in training you when you thought you didn’t need training; when you thought you already knew the lesson?

If so, I hear the Father saying that you have been a most apt pupil. 😊 And I believe this prayer is for you today. Pray it as many times as you feel led, and believe God to move you forward in grace and peace, and into a new season of prosperity, power, and anointing, in Jesus’ name!
