Day 21: He Will Deliver the Needy When He Cries

If so, I have good news for you: The Word of God says that He will deliver the needy when he cries (or when she cries). 🙂 Read on for more of this breakthrough prayer!

In this simple prayer series, I am sharing one Scripture verse or passage each day. I will also add bullet-point prayer directives you can use to pray through that Scripture.

I won’t be writing out actual prayers, though; I feel the Lord wants you to exercise your prayer muscles by talking to Him right out of your heart!

Today, Day 21 of breakthrough prayer, we are claiming God’s promise to deliver the needy, the poor, and him who has no helper.

Our breakthrough promise for today is found in Psalm 72:12-13, which says this:

“For He will deliver the needy when he cries, the poor also, and him who has no helper. He will spare the poor and needy, and will save the souls of the needy” (Psalm 72:13-14 NKJV).

Beloved, God sees every tear you’ve cried.

He sees every moment of every day that you have hidden from the world in your bed. He sees every dollar, yen, rand, pound sterling, or peso that you need. He sees every frustration of your heart. He sees every time you’ve been cast off, neglected, ostracized, ignored, or rejected.

And He cares about your needs.

Not only does He care, but He will do something about it.

God will deliver the needy when he cries. That includes you (even if you’re a she). 🙂

When you have no friend to comfort you …

When you have no one who has taken you under your wing …

When you have no one who helps provide for you …

When you give and give and give, but your giving is not reciprocated …

When things look so dark that you cannot see any solutions or anything at all except JESUS …

… And you know that it would be over if you stopped looking at JESUS for even one second …

God sees you. He knows. He understands.

Jesus experienced all those things too. And you have God’s promise, right now today, to deliver you, spare you, help you, and save your mind, will, and emotions (your soul).

Remember these other Bible verses about God’s help as well:

“For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, ‘Fear not, I will help you'” (Isaiah 41:13 NKJV).

And from Psalm 91:

“Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him, and show him My salvation” (Psalm 91:14-16 NKJV).

And then this nugget from Isaiah 43:

“But now, thus says the Lord, who created you, O Jacob, and He who formed you, O Israel:

‘Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you.

For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior; I gave Egypt for your ransom, Ethiopia and Seba in your place. Since you were precious in My sight, you have been honored, and I have loved you; therefore I will give men for you, and people for your life” (Isaiah 43:1-4 NKJV).

In today’s breakthrough prayer, we are claiming this promise from Psalm 72 that the Lord will deliver the needy when he cries.

Let’s look at today’s breakthrough Scripture one more time:

“For He will deliver the needy when he cries, the poor also, and him who has no helper. He will spare the poor and needy, and will save the souls of the needy” (Psalm 72:13-14 NKJV).

Pray these breakthrough prayer points with me today:

• Tell the Father that you come before Him in Jesus’ name.
• Thank Him for being compassionate and promising to help you.
• Thank Him for seeing the deepest cries of your heart–even those cries which the people around you cannot see or know!
• Praise Him for His goodness and faithfulness to you.
• Give Him praise for His mercy toward you.
• Confess to the Lord that you see His Word that He will deliver the needy when he (or she) cries.
• Thank Him for seeing all your needs, even those needs which are so deep you cannot express them in words.
• Thank Him for seeing that you have no helper but Him. If the lack of a helper, patron, sponsor, or mentor has been a deep agony in your heart, tell Him so.
• Tell Him “thank You” for seeing the injustice that no one is helping you!
• Pray for Him to deliver you right now from all the things about which you are crying out. List them specifically, and ask Him for His help.
• Thank Him for seeing your need for money, for He said He will deliver “the poor also”!
• Ask Him to come up under you and take you under His wing, becoming your helper where no man has helped. (Or, where not enough people have helped, or where people have done an insufficient job or have not been dependable, etc.).
• Thank Him that His Word says “He will spare the poor and needy.” Thank Him for His deliverance which is coming for your financial situation!
• Thank Him that His Word says He will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).
• List your specific financial needs before Him. Ask Him to provide them all, and remind Him of the due dates for any bills or needs with deadlines.
• Ask Him to provide your needs by the due dates so you will not be a reproach among the nations!
• Thank Him also for promising to “save the souls of the needy.” Talk to Him about your emotional state. (Remember that your “soul” consists of your mind, your will, and your emotions.) Ask Him to deliver you from depression, discouragement, loneliness, emotional agony, pain, despair, hopelessness, isolation, and from failure to thrive.
• Ask Him to give you hope and a will to live!
• Pray for the Lord to fill you with motivation, encouragement, hope, desires fulfilled (which are a tree of life), and inspiration.
• Ask Him to restore the joy of your salvation.
• Thank Him for hearing and answering your prayer. Thank Him in advance, on credit, because His faithfulness remains forever!
• Thank Him for delivering you when you cry; for being your Helper when no one else is; for sparing you, for you are poor and needy before Him; and for saving your soul, redeeming you from depression, despair and hopelessness.
• Thank Him for taking you out of darkness and into His marvelous light!
• Give Him all the praise and glory for who He is and how faithful He is and has always been to you!

Dear friend, this season of pain is not forever. God will deliver you out of the mire.

Weeping endures for the night, but JOY still comes in the morning. Do not fear or be distressed; there is light just ahead, and a new day is dawning!
